This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

You get to have ONE RPG made...

So, the RPG genie comes to you and says you can have ONE RPG made. Pick the subject, pick the system.

I'd like to see an RPG based on Masamune Shirow's Dominion manga series. It's pretty cyber punkish but goes off in some directions most cyberpunk doesn't.  It has some more positive elements than the usual hopeless dark future evil corporation dominated world that's become a cliche' in most near future games.

Technical details, tactical combat and hardware are essential to the Appleseed setting so a system that has these would be important. Also most Appleseed fans are probably gearheads so a system like GURPS would be good.

I pretended that a picture of a toddler was representative of the Muslim Migrant population to Europe and then lied about a Private Message I sent to Pundit when I was admonished for it.  (Edited by Admin)

What would the PCs do in your campaign?

It'd follow a Vampire kinda model - what do you have to do to score the next (final?) hit? What risks are you willing to take? What crimes are you willing to commit? What are the internal politics of living in a group of addicts and low lives? How much humanity are you prepared to sacrifice to feed your habits? How do you cope with family and friends? Is there a way out? Etc.

That sort of thing.

Would the sequel be part of it, or would it come later as a separate sourcebook?

The Exploited.

Hmm... I would love to see Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere made into a game.

Um, system-wise? Err... I'll have to have a think.

Yeah, you could integrate both easy enough. It's more the themes that count.

But think of the money you could bilk by separating them...!

I'd love to see an official Babylon 5 RPG.  One that wasn't made by Mongoose that is.

As to what system, that's a good question.  Stars Without Number perhaps.

If I could have one RPG made, it would be The Three Musketeers/Twenty Years After/The Vicomte de Bragelonne/Louise de la Valliere/The Man in the Iron Mask, or I guess The D'Artagnan Romances Roleplaying Game. I'd want to use Flashing Blades as a starting point but provide lots more material. And it would be so incredible everyone would forget all about hobbits and fireballs and orcs and the hip new thing would be historical settings free of fantasy and magic add-ons as the market would realize that the real world and history are much more interesting than anything you can make up. :D

My Galaxies In Shadow of course!  Really, needs a better name but there you go.  :D

Maybe an OSR covering the Mongolian Expansion period including the invasion of Kievan Rus, with maybe some focus on that conflict. And there would be throat singing. It's something I thought of when Pundit was talking about historical games, and it kind of crosses over into the family history my Great Aunt compiled which goes back to the settlement of Kiev by the Varangians in and around the 9th century. There is quite a bit you can do with that setting considering how expansive the Mongol Empire was.
