Title: WotC's new Microsoft Execs on monetization of D&D
Post by: honeydipperdavid on March 05, 2025, 02:56:01 PM
I worked corporate reporting dealing with microcontent sales for a large video game company, I know the snakes that push microcontent.  This joke video isn't completely off on how Microsoft sold WotC on turning D&D into an AI Driven VTT for money.

Those cockmunches will give you 1 to 3 monsters for Sigil if you buy MM 2024.  If you want more, no problem just 25 cents and you get to use 4 goblins now for your fights for a year!

The only reason these microcontent schemes work is because they prey on people who have mental health issues. IE persons who are prone to gambling addiction.

Thats like 90% of all CCG players.

Some are so addicted to random that they complain if a game isnt collectible. BGG had and likely still has a little clusterfuck of these fruitcakes.
