This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Nope, I haven't gotten a chance to run it, but I did just run through character creation with my best friend and a buddy in Australia. We plan on playing using Roll20, maybe this weekend if I'm not in the process of moving.

So far we have a Wood Elf Wizard with the Sage and Magic-User Background and Specialty, and a Human Fight with Knight and Acolyte. My best friend's asked his boyfriend about playing, taking on the Rogue or Cleric niche, probably, but we'll see.

If not, we'll adjust.

My best friend seemed stunned when my buddy from Oz got all his Ability Score bonuses, but then got the Elf stuff and thought it was fine. We were in the process of character creation while they were downloading the packets, but it still went pretty smoothly.

My best friend is an AD&D2e guy like me, while my Aussie friend is a 4e player. Both are pretty excited about giving it a go as soon as we can. They liked the Backgrounds and Specialties, much like I did, feeling like it gave extra customization with little time spent. Our 4e player was rolling ability scores for the first time and liked it, but he also came out of it okay. The only stumbling block was when he took Guardian by name, and got the Feat description, because he's a two-handed sword kinda guy and not a sword and shield kinda guy. So he switched to Acolyte after looking at the Cleric's Orisons.

Anyway, wrapping up character generation tonight, we have an AD&D2e guy and a 4e guy who are both pumped with their characters.

RPGPundit

Looking forward to hearing about it. Do keep in mind though, that if its an actual play report or narrative, then it belongs over in the Design and Gameplay forum.  On the other hand, if you are talking about details of the system and what you found good or bad or what worked or didn't or that kind of thing, then it can be posted here.

You could also always do both.

Online, yes, using Roll20. Sporadically, on weekends. First session being either Friday or Saturday, I think, depending on my moving schedule. We're gonna use the adventure sent in the newest pack, just probably not all at once (since the six objectives are designed to be just an hour or two long in game time).

I've got no problem with you playing, and I doubt they do, if the schedule works. Drop me an e-mail if that sounds doable, buddy.
