This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

It will only arise as a form of undead, walking the Earth and infecting people with the knowledge that the hobby is immortal while the industry may die.
"Meh."

Dungeon is enjoyable, but its D&D Chutes & Ladders. Near zero strategy and lots of dice rolls. But hey, break out the margaritas and crank up the Sabbath and its all good.

Quote from: thedungeondelver;534759[strike]Descent[/strike]HeroQuest is pretty much the ultimate "D******s&D*****s" boardgame,

Warhammer Quest is significantly better than HQ, but HQ is fun and easier to find...but for pure awesome, WHQ is the king.

It is pretty simple.  I find it interesting that the new description mentions going up to level 6 - I don't remember that from the version I had before.  It's possible they've enhanced it, but I figure we'll find out when it gets out.

If 3.x is the only game still being played when the industry inevitably goes tits up, then there's really no point in the hobby surviving at all.
I used to be amused, now I\'m back to being disgusted.

Quote from: Benoist;534939Actually I have no script installed and EnWorld still crashes repeatedly on me.

I just installed no-script, and I find it slows sites down rather than speeding them up like it's supposed to.

ggroy

I just manually turn the scripting off, unless a particular web page really requires it.

To post on ENworld, I usually turn the scripting on and turn it back off when I'm done.  (With the scripting turned off on ENworld, it's very tedious to post).

Wow dude, you have some serious issues with 3.x... is it just that in particular, or do you have a similar kind of hatred for any other games?

Personally, my distaste for Justifiers burns with the heat of a thousand suns, but since pretty much everyone agrees with me on that one I don't get very many opportunities to stir up forum drama.
D&D is becoming Self-Referential.  It is no longer Setting Referential, where it takes references outside of itself. It is becoming like Ouroboros in its self-gleaning for tropes, no longer attached, let alone needing outside context.

Says you..... I don't play 3.x anyhow, I play AD&D 1E/ OSRIC, I could care less about 3.x or 5E.
