This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Whoa, who is this guy? I just came across the blog and it's brilliant. Well, okay, let's just say his thoughts on RPG subjects are well written and pretty close to my opinions (note: on bigger issues than just D&D 4e).

(Ah, I see his name is Justin Alexander.)

Also I see that he's touting an OGL game called Legends & Labyrinths which sounds like it could be the "Modern" Basic D&D that Pundit's always calling for. Interesting...not sure it'd be up my alley, but it could be worth a look.

EDIT: Update--I think this Justin Alexander is the same person as Justin Bacon, who used to post on RPGnet (before running afoul of the administration).

Yes. Same Justin. Some good reviews but his biases are many and strong. I also don't care for analyzing D&D3.x rules in anywhere near the depth he does so I'll hold off on making a decision on this game until it's out and I've seen reviews by people not connected with him.

Until then, I have C&C and possibly Pathfinder. And D&D3.x. :)

Good Lord, of all places to read about Justin's banning, Tom's Hardware has a thread.

It's not really at Tom's Hardware. It's an archived Usenet thread; a better place to read it is via Google Groups on alt.games.whitewolf.

But more relevant in this day and age is that he says he considered at one time turning L&L into a replacement for 3e when 4e came out, but once Paizo announced Pathfinder he decided that L&L should just fill the adjunct niche of a sort of "red box Basic Set for 3rd Edition".
