This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Voros;981232Oh yeah good point about the Fox stories. Seems to me that Golden Sky Stories is a better way to play Henge that this though.

A Cat People rpg would be interesting, set in the 40s or 80s to reflect the original and the remake.

I have to disagree. My oldest character that I still play from time to time is a 1e Hengeyokai, and yes I know that not all Youkai are Henge. I backed GSS.

It looks a little giimmicky to me and I don't think I really need something like that to bring Youkai into 5e since I already have. And by Youkai I mean the whole spectrum, not just the furry animals, including spirits that have become Youkai, humans that have become Youkai and even animated objects that have become Youkai. Though I kind of loosely base my mythology on Koshinto which is kind of a reconstruction of Shinto without influences of outside religions that focuses on the nature of Kami, which are kind of related to Youkai. Sort of. It's complicated. :D

If I saw it in print at Sentry Box I'd probably pick it up.

In my DCC game there are animals that talk and animals that don't. Some of the animals that talk also have societies, like the narco-trafficking sloths, while others don't and just live in the woods.

There doesn't appear to be any reasoning behind it, though of course there is.
