This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Yes, I know I'm being lazy... ...but is there a resource available that has stats for Earth animals for Traveller? Dinosaurs and other extinct megafauna as well?
Yeah, but who gives a fuck? You? Jibba?

Well congrats. No one else gives a shit, so your arguments are a waste of breath.

Not that I've ever heard of.

I have some time tonight, give me a list of animals you want written up and I'll take a stab at it. Which version of Traveller do you want the stats in? (If you say TNE, I will say no. :) )
"Meh."

Planet Algol

Thanks! It's for Classic Traveller. I'm looking for dangerous Earth animals: attack dogs; tigers; crocodiles; komodo dragons; hippopotami; water buffalo; sharks; grizzly bears; moa. That sort of thing.

Not exactly one stop shopping, but you'd probably find a few in a pile of issues of JTAS, Travellers Digest, Challenge, Space Gamer, etc..

Looks like something for Mongoose or BITS to put on the "to do" list.

Meanwhile, adaptation from other sources should not be too hard. If you've got a figure for mass, you've got a good start. A Handbook of Natural History, or GURPS Bestiary, or the AH RuneQuest Creatures Book, or other such work, might be helpful -- and there's always the internet.
And we are here as on a darkling plain  ~ Swept with confused alarms of struggle and flight, ~ Where ignorant armies clash by night.

Hey, Planet Algol, let me know what kind of shark and crocodile breed you mean. Doing some research, there are crocodiles living now that are over 2000kg in mass, that is huge! For sharks, the ancient megalodon could be up to 20.3m in length and mass about 103 tons! That thing could swallow an air/raft!
"Meh."

Planet Algol

Average/normal ones? Nile crocodile & bull or tiger shark I guess?

Tonights game I thought I was going to have to come up with stats for the rottweilers that were used as attack guards at the criminal syndicate mountain villa... ...but the PCs just ran over them with their ground cars.

You'd think at some point in Trav's long history someone would have thought to do this, at least for the sake of providing a contextual example for creature creation..
