SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Where do you go to pick up games?

TheRPGSite has no game advertising board, but I'd like to know, where do you go to pick up some online play?

Thus far I've bookmarked the Roll20 forums, and rpggeek.com -- any other places I should check out?

I just ask around on IRC. Someone is usually either running or wants to run something on #rpgnet.

I'm sorry, I should have specified. No RPGnet. I'm boycotting those guys, or they're boycotting me, whatever.

It's just a legacy name. It has no relation to the website anymore and it has its own crowd nowadays.

(Dan Davenport manages the thing)

To confirm, #rpgnet has no ties whatsoever with the RPGnet message boards nor Skotos. It's managed by Dan Davenport, who's a poster here, a friend and all around terrific guy. I've been invited to talk mega-dungeons before on the channel and it was a blast. I'll do it again to talk about the Hobby Shop Dungeon, one of these days.

Google+ communities are another way to find out who is running what and when.   As for Roll20, the LFG forum is pretty anemic but the LFG search app gets pretty good results at least from a GM perspective.

RPGPundit

I too have appeared in interviews on #rpgnet, twice now, and would not have done so if it was owned by tangency.net...
