This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Most recent purchase was The Pirate's Guide to Freeport last weekend, as soon as I returned from vacation.  In the previous weeks, I'd had a bunch of pre-orders trickle in:
  • The Committee for the Exploration of Mysteries
  • Full Light, Full Steam
  • Finis (it's not really a gaming product but I plan on using it as one!)
  • Shock 1.1
I've been very happy with every single purchase, so it was a lucky summer in that respect for me (it averaged out with other not-so-lucky aspects, I guess).

Two books for Vampire the Requiem: Ordo Dracul and Invictus. Both of them get a resounding thumbs up from me. When the VtR book came out I really was uninspired by the Covenants. They were cool, but they seemed like they were just throwbacks to the Vampire the Masquerade Clans in too many ways. The Covenant sourcebooks really dispel those myths and give the Covenants meat. Lancea Sanctum is next on my list.

GURPS Martial Arts.

I love how they took the idea of 'Martial Art' to mean much more than just eastern martial arts and ran away with it. The cinematic parts should be very useful if I can ever convince my players to do TMNT.

GURPS Spaceships PDF.

Has abstract (non hex based, no minis/counters) starship combat... I've gotta build some ships and try it.

Does free count? I was in time to download the 'Freeport' trilogy on talk like a pirate day.

I bought Dragon Pass, A Game of Gloranthan Warfare.

It doesn't make any sense.

Nice map, though. Very nice.

Manual of Exalted Power: The Sidereals

The Roll of Glorious Divinity

True20 Narrator's Kit

The True20 screen is excellent. It comes in landscape format and has the kind of good, sturdy construction that is becoming increasingly common these days. It's comprehensively detailed, and the sci-fi/fantasy scenario seems perfect for my Wilderlands campaign.

I haven't had a chance to read the Exalted books yet, but they look pretty cool.

WFRP Tome of Salvation
WFRP Realms of the Ice Queen
World of Darkness Reliquary
World of Darkness Asylum

I'm actually amazed at how awesome Reliquary is. Between that, Second Sight, and the Book of Spirits you can run an awesome Silent Hill or Call of Cthulhu game in the WoD.

All four of these books are awesome. Makes me giddy.

Recently, I picked up
  • a pdf expansion for Iron Stars
  • the "Swarm of the Marro" Heroscape box
  • some stupid expensive Q-Workshop dice
  • a couple pdfs for Metal, Magic, and Lore
  • a box of little round "combs" for my Ibico binder
  • a box of Indian pencils
  • some replica Victorian Cokes--always a fun Christmastime item
  • I downloaded Risus and Nemesis, but that's not really a "purchase"

Not doing much in the way of paper books lately. There are several coming out I'm waiting for. I guess if I just have to spend money, there are several awesome lines of fine paper miniatures out there to download.

Just took advantage of the Kenzer sale to fill in the two Hacklopedias I was missing, another copy of Little Keep on the Borderlands, The Hidden Shrine, Descent Into the NetherDeep, and the Kalamar Campaign Setting Sourcebook.  Before that, it was probably the Classic Traveller, JTAS, and MegaTraveller CDROMs from FFE.  Since I stopped running my D&D 3.5 game, my purchases have dropped off quite a bit.

Magical Traditions for Mage:the Awakening  -- Neat for many reasons, but these may be less obvious.

1) New ways to envision magic

2) New possibilities for character creations of mages

3) It has some nifty philosophical ideas that you might be able to use as a ST to mess with the poor players' heads (in a fun, interesting way)!
