This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Sacrosanct;578323Despite the strength penalty, he was a great class.  Not as sneaky as a rogue, but was small enough to find himself in advantageous positions and surprise the enemy with his weapon specialization, higher HP than a thief, and better THAC0 than a thief ;)  Everyone assumed, "Halfing!  Must be a thief!" till they got a sword in the eye....

He was the honey badger before the honey badger became cool.

Honey Badgers have been our Team Mascot for 10 years :) and my daughter's favourite animal well along with rabits and red pandas.... girls.

Reminds me of one of my mates who ran an AntiPaladin with a ring of Halfling appearance....

I usually play one of either:

A) Whatever is different from the rest of the group.

or

B) Whatever I haven't played in a while.

Gotta keep it fresh.

I've actually had lots of monstrous PCs, weaklings, bruisers, and on and on.

Quote from: jibbajibba;578302I also quite like the French as a playable race becuase even if you are 'good' you can still get away with being rude and arrogant and stay in character.

The most fun PC I played alongside was the Wizard in our DFRPG run. Richard Merovech Masson was one of the good guys, but he was also a total bastard.
Currently running: Tyche\'s Favourites, a historical ACKS campaign set around Massalia in 300BC.

To be honest, this was the inspiration.  I always loved this picture when I first saw it, and is a reason why I've always thought of halflings as more than just thieves

D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

Humans because they don't come with "built in" personality quirks so I'm free from any expectations when I play as them.

elves, but i'm a nature lover IRL so i can't help it :D

Ladybird

I like humans more than any other, but if I feel like playing a non-human? DWARF.
one two FUCK YOU

Humans with halflings as a close runner-up.
"Meh."

Black Vulmea

Humans primarily, but if I'm playing AD&D, I would consider a gnome, either fighter/illusionist or illusionist/thief.

One of these days I'd like to lay a Bwap in Traveller.

I tend to play humans the majority of the time as well.
