This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What new RPG stuff is on the horizon in 2012?

Quote from: The Butcher;508660Damn, I forgot about this. Wasn't there a chanbara/jidaigeki Pendragon hack also scheduled? I'd like to know the whereabouts of this as well.

And the bronze age/greek heroes hack too.

Siembieda's prostate flaring up again, eh?
Quote from: Black Vulmea;530561Y\'know, I\'ve learned something from this thread. Both B.T. and Koltar are idiots, but whereas B.T. possesses a malign intelligence, Koltar is just a drooling fuckwit.

So, that\'s something, I guess.

Plus whatever comes out for Stars Without Number and The One Ring

I was really hoping for a Blue Planet setting book for MongTrav.

Any word on the system for BP 3e?

Quote from: kregmosier;509311Buckaroo Banzai Adventure Game

Is this for real?

When I heard about it originally, I assumed it was a hoax, a homebrew or vaporware.

I also forgot to mention that Hawgleg Publishing, the guys that produce the (awesome) Western skirmish rules Gutshot, have been working on a full RPG which should hopefully be released some time this year.
"Do what thy manhood bids thee do, from none but self expect applause; He noblest lives and noblest dies who makes and keeps his self-made laws."

Likewise, you can make a dead baby joke in the process of asking for advice on how to quiet your baby, but someone else can\'t in response to your request.

Ghost Whistler

Im told (in other words, I lurked on rpg.net and read it there, probably incorrectly) Legends of the Wulin is out next month. Having had a look at the pdf and watched the dev's own youtube videos, I'm not convinced it's any less vague than it's spiritual predecessor, weapons of the gods. Some of the new ideas aren't explained well at all - from what I could see.
"Ghost Whistler" is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.

Other Dust is up for a late spring/early summer release. It's going to be a stand-alone SWN companion game focusing on post-apocalyptic Terra 200 years after the Scream. Aside from providing SWN-compatible rules for mutations, scavenging, foraging, post-apocalyptic trade and the backstory of just what exactly was happening on Earth at the time of the Scream, its major point is to provide an integrated, from-the-ground-up system for building sandbox adventuring regions. By setting up the sandbox correctly, the GM can generate adventure hooks from the area with minimal brain sweat and seamlessly accommodate PCs who want to get their hands dirty with local politics and reconstruction. Some of the basic ideas are getting developed in An Echo, Resounding, which is the campaign region generator/domain rules/mass combat supplement for Labyrinth Lord that should be on sale within the next three weeks.
Other Dust, a standalone post-apocalyptic companion game to Stars Without Number.
Stars Without Number, a free retro-inspired sci-fi game of interstellar adventure.
Red Tide, a Labyrinth Lord-compatible sandbox toolkit and campaign setting

OH yeah I forgot about Buckaroo Banzai.  Though I'm imagining it's one I'll buy to read and probably not play.
AccidentalSurvivors.com : The blood will put out the fire.

The Butcher

Here's another one: Mongoose Traveller: 2300AD.

I am only vaguely familiar with the 2300AD setting but it sounds right up my alley. Throw in some tech from Twilight Sector and I think I have my "perfect" Traveller setting.

The little I've read on the Redbrick forums seems to indicate an overhaul of the existing system, rather than something new.

@SineNomine:  Thanks, I look forward to Other Dust and Echo.

Oh, I left one out. Privateer Press' Iron Kingdoms rpg is scheduled for a gencon release.
