This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What is your system?

Polls are fun, right? It's always interesting to see what folks are playing.
In our hobby, there are so many games (and so little time) and we try out new stuff from time to time. But for this poll I want you to pick one. What system/game defines you as a gamer? To what family of games are you most loyal to?

Krimson

I put Cortex Plus because of the fun I have had running Marvel Heroic and hacks thereof. Lately though it's all been about D&D 5e, but D&D doesn't need my vote.

camazotz

I had to put D&D of course, but BRP would have been the close second.

RunningLaser

Voted D&D.  Not sure about most loyal, but most played.  Second would be Marvel Super Heroes.

The Butcher

Tricky. I voted D&D based on sheer number of hours played, but there were times I considered myself chiefly a oWoD gamer, or a Palladium/Rifts gamer or a Savage Worlds gamer. But D&D was always there.

Nowadays, you are still most likely to see me fiddling around with some OSR take on D&D (right now Godbound is my thing), but I'm almost as likely to be messing with a number of other things.

Telarus

Earthdawn 4E (Something else not in this list)

nope

Long-time reader, first-time poster here. I voted GURPS, consider me a fanatic.

I'm glad you use the term "family" because that makes it a lot simpler. Games in the Fudge-Fate spectrum have featured heavily in my gaming for most of my gaming life and the games I've written from "Mutant Bikers of the Atomic Wastelands" to "Cyberblues City" have all be either Fudge or Fate variants.

Of all the Fudge/Fate games, ICONS is the one that best expresses my preferences. Fate, in it's current state, is perhaps just a little to cerebral, too fussy. Vanilla Fudge is a bit dry. ICONS, especially the first edition, just nailed it.
New! Cyberblues City - like cyberpunk, only more mellow. Free, fully illustrated roleplaying game based on the Fudge system
Bounty Hunters of the Atomic Wastelands, a post-apocalyptic western game based on Fate. It\'s simple, it\'s free and it\'s in colour!

Pretty much this.

Simlasa

BRP for me.
I play a lot of D&D (and its relations) but that's just because it's the only thing on the menu most of the time, and I don't hate it quite as much as I used to.

I voted FFG's Star Wars because it's what I'm regularly GM'ing since last year, and I love and enjoy every inch of it.

If I had to pick the system that most blew my mind away and changed my percepcion on RPGs system-wise, then that'd be Tenra bansho Zero.

I'm also currently reading Shadow of the Demon Lord and loving it (I had my backer PDF for a while, but I'm getting to it just now). I hope to be able to GM something soon.

Before you post, remember: It\'s okay to not like things...

"Most loyal to" is a slightly loaded question. Especially after the "fanatic" thread where way too many here equate Loyal = Fanatic.

I voted Traveller, but I invest about as much time and energy into Star Wars (WEG d6). After those two comes Mekton (II and Zeta) and D&D (Labyrinth Lord, BX, 3.x, Pathfinder, and 5th).
"Meh."

Caesar Slaad

I'm probably "most loyal" to the D20-Pathfinder-Crafty branches of the D&D/D20 tree, but I put fate to represent a close second since I expect D&D will have enough votes. ;)

Oddly dichotomous, I like that most D20 games respect the role of equipment (though I love Fate, I think it goes too far downplaying gear) and hate the 3.5/Pathfinder economy. Fantasy Craft's economy is a nice compromise, but I feel its magic is under-developed.

But D&D 3.5/Pathfinder correlates well with the way my DM brain thinks about adventure design. I love building villains and organizations and setting them up against the PCs.

Running: Pathfinder Scarred Lands, Mutants & Masterminds, Masks, Starfinder, Bulldogs!
Playing: Sigh. Nothing.
Planning: Some Cyberpunk thing, system TBD.
