This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What is the most popular/played OGL game?

What is the most popular and played OGL game? I'm talking about those game rules that have all trademarks and game settings removed from them, and the rules come from an SRD often times.

Yah, I think you're right. Does it have a setting in the core book, or no?

Pathfinder is the only Fantasy based OGL game being sold in hard copy right now.  So yeah.

As for built in setting, sorta.  The only real thing about Golarion (SP) is that they list the Gods their 'Chronicles' supposedly use (As I don't actually own anything other than the core book, I cannot say more), anything else is in other books, I'm assuming.

For the most part, no.  It has bits of setting sprinkled here and there like the 3.X PHBs did.  The suggested deities in the cleric class entry are Golarion deities for example.

Actually there a number of OGL fantasy games available in hard copy. Most of them are print on demand and so aren't in the usual print distribution chain. But hard copy they are and OGL. Beyond the Wall and Other Adventures has no setting written into the game and is published under the OGL. Swords & Wizardry is another settingless OGL game.

Go to Drivethru and Lulu and start looking for games available in hardcopy. Many, many of them are published under the OGL.

But Pathfinder is, I am sure, the biggest.

Definitely Pathfinder. I do hear good things about Beyond the Wall, though. Sorry random though

I meant in retail chain, which isn't dying or dead, just yet.  BUT if you include POD, then yes, however as you point out, Pathfinder has had a massive head start on that bandwagon.

13th Age and Fantasy Craft come to mind as well

13th Age even has an SRD site

Mongoose also released their Traveller and RuneQuest under the OGL

PFS gives Pathfinder a big leg up on the OGL competition.

Pathfinder, 100%. According to ICv2's numbers 'Pathfinder' has consistently been the best selling RPG after D&D for years, outclassing D&D in a few instances. No OGL game even comes close.

Taking a step far, far down I'd assume 'Lamentations of the Flame Princess' sells pretty good given the strong 3rd party support and a large, active community. By the same indicators 'Dungeon Crawl Classics' and 'Labyrinth Lord' also do alright.

I wonder how large the gaps are between games in that ICv2 ranking? The rankings alone are pretty meaningless.
