Quote from: BagpussWith feats it a question of do you want the feat or an extra invocation. If I was aiming for damage dealing then Improved Critical might be an idea but I was more going for versitility and debuffs.
I never bothered with Extra Invocation. But I remembered that my 4th feat was Weapon Focus (Ray) at 3rd level. I wish I could take that back.

Voracious Dispelling is a fantastic invocation, by the way. Nothing like at-will dispelling with a few points of damage thrown in. It's especially fun when you hurt your campanion while dispelling the fear that was cast on him. :)

I plan on getting Improved Crit at 12th level (I think I can do that). Seems like a no-brainer being able to more easily double the damage. If that's the build you're going for, anyway.

I have another question. I had the opportunity to start my warlock at 9th level (since the party is spread between lvl 10-12), and I had picked the Eldritch Chain feat, but became uncertain how it is supposed to work. It says I get to hit another target for every five caster levels I have, but without looking in the books (since I am at work...ahem), the Eldritch Blast is described as being a caster level half of the warlocks level, rounded down. So does the Eldritch Chain refer to my caster level as equal to my levels in Warlock, or my caster level in Eldritch Chain?

It refers to your total Warlock level. Not very well worded, but I believe the give the numbers in the book and it takes all your Warlock levels into account.

Thanks. That's how we played it. It didn't seem logical that they'd give examples for how many times it would chain up to lvl 40.

You mean spell not caster.

That's been errataed Eldrich Blast is always treated as a 1st level spell, unless modified by a essense/shape.

The reason for this is as written in the Complete Arcane, it would be impossible to use the Maximize/Empower/Heighten Spell-like ability feats with their restrictions.
