This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I was just curious on how H&S 2 was coming along.

Any hard and fast changes you already know about?

Is it just going to be minor tweaks or a major rewrite?

Is is for all intents and purposes a major rewrite. Most of the rules are fundamentally the same.

However, the tweaks are explaining things more clearly, adding a few tweaks that needed to be done, and making sure that people don't feel like they are hand waving. It looks more complete than before, and explains "How to use" the game more. (Almost everything is built on the same "rule of thumb." as before, it is just called a Threshold now, and explained more as use this rule type material.)

It is coming along fairly solidly, but not fast. I've got stuff for reading and examining for feedback up at the Yahoo group.

Right now I'm still slowly working on the powers list and working on the better "random generation" system than I had. Something simpler, faster and more Hearts & Souls related than simply rolling attributes and powers. Its more, shall we say Iconic.  Pretty soon I'm going to start on the setting, once I get the powers and Random Generation stuff done, and you'll be treated to Lone Star City, a fictionalized version of my home town, made vastly larger (from 150000 people roughly due to the oil boom although the census still shows about 90k.) Adding in the superhero "impact" of history it will have about 3-4 million people, and merge several local smaller cities, with enough change to be "fictional."  Yet noticeable to anyone from here. I imagined we'd need a second game to mention the location, a good game. (The other one that has us on the map at all is Rifts.)

I am dealing with an upcoming move which has cut into my writing focus a bit. Trying to scramble for money for the move. Whee. So it slows me down a bit more.
