Can you give a brief overview of the Scarred Lands?  (I've seen this thread over on Enworld...but everyone seemed to know what they were talking about ;) so I always let it be).

Now that its down, I figured I'd ask.

Sorry couldn't help myself.

Brief overview eh? Well let's see: Scarred Lands is a setting with a lot of turmoil, policial, geographical, and even some instances, spiritually. In the beginning there was nothing. A vast emptiness most say but some believe that there existed a race of beings existing both as one and seperate beings. But then came the true creators, the Titans. Beings of great power, elemental fury, and unknownable minds, The first of them, Kadum, shaped the world with his footsteps, raising the lands above the sea. Then came the other, the life givers, Mormo the Lady of Serpents, and Denev, the Earth Mother. They were soon followed by the others, the Dame of Storms, Lethene, her sister and fellow, Gubalen, lady of the Winds, Chern, the Plague Lord, the Scourge, Thulkas, the Iron Lord, Father of Fire, Golthain, the Faceless, the Sensitive, Mesos, the Sire of Sorcery, the Intutive, Golthagga, the Shaper, the Forger, Gaurak, the Glutton, the Devourer, and Hrinnruk, the Mighty Hunter. These 13 titans all shaped the world with various forms of life. But it wasn't until Gormoth, the Life Giver, discovered the true power, that of sentience and made his own creation, that would be known as now as the Abandoned. Mormo, jealous of her lover's power, seduced the secrets of life out of him, and in the process, poisoned him. But the power of that kind of creation comes at a price. A price few could know as they experimented more and more, until finally came the first one of their true children, the mighty and fearsome Vangel, Lord of Slaughter, the Lord of the Apocalyse.  Vangel was the by product of the mating of Lady Lethene, Chern and Thulkas. From Lethene, he gained her fierce nature along with his wild and powerful independent nature, from his father Chern, the power of vermin, diseases, sickness and indeed vermin that crawled. From his other father, Thulkas, he gained immesureable strength, and indeed an iron will all his own. He was the first to trully be called a barbarian, and indeed it was because of that, many that usually followed Hrinnruk bowed to him, for he was their king of Slaughter, their Blood God. His revels in battles along side his fellows gave him such strength that rivaled that of his parents. Indeed, unlike his parents, he displayed a kinship for many forms of magic, along with the ability to control and shape souls. The titans marveled at this, all save the Mountainshaker, Kadum. He felt slighted by this "child" and decided to make his own, one he claimed "Would build up and defend, one that stand against the ravages of any force, and show strength in face of any adversary." Thus the mighty, wise, and indeed heavily respected by all, Corean, the Lord of Chiverly, the Crafter, the Shaper of Life's hope, was born. He posssessed much of his father's strength, but shared many of his mother, the Earth Mother, Denev's trait, for kinship of the land, the ability to help things grow, and an affinity for one of her own elements, that of fire. But unlike either, he was loyal, kind towards all, a paragon of virtue, justice and indeed mercy when presented. Then came others, as the titans mated with themselves and soon produced many "cousins' and "half brothers/sisters" for the first two godlings to enjoy. For Corean, his half brother Hedrada, the Lord of Laws, giver of wisdom, builder of cities, and his slightly wilder half sister, Tanil, the Lady of the woods, the Huntress, the partron of good luck, patron of bards, travel and children, along with sexual natures. For Vangal, his strange mother mated with her fellow "sister" and produced the Trickerster, Enkili, the Lord of Pranks, the Chaos born, the Sly, the bringer of fortune and ill fortune. Mormo seeing her power grown weaker and feeling shafted by the fact many of her creations were not included by the gods, mated with Mesos, her on again, off again foe and begat the twins, Besalmeth, the Lady of the Moon, the patroness of witchcraft, the Lady of Murder, madness and death of the most unnatural kind, and her sister, Madriel, the First Angel, the Blessed One, the Mother of life, the goddess of sun, healing, agriculture, and marriage. Belsameth loathed the way all loved her sister and indeed altered her appearence, becoming more akin to a sultry dark soul with black eyes. For her part, Madriel tried to make amends with her sister, but Belsameth was not one to give way to feelings that quickly. Finally Mormo found her one time lover, the one she tricked and mated with Gormoth to beget last of the Eight, the Lord of Tyranny, the King of Anguish, Pain, and domination, Chardun, the Black Knight. Indeed much as Corean had his own code, so did Chardun, as both were extremely loyal to the idea of orderly existence. But such is not the way of the Titans, as most prefered to move mountains regardless of what it did to the souls that lived there. A plague by Chern only meant he was testing his powers and seeing what ones were more effective. Good, evil, order, chaos, these things meant little to the Titans, amoral, often times cruel, but mostly uncaring. They created the world, it was theirs to play with as they saw fit. But unlike their parents, the gods needed sentient beings, as they gave them power and worship to survive...thus it was only a matter of time before war came to Heaven...and Hell landed on the world of the Scarn.

Well now...that wasn't actually brief, was it?  ;)

Still a good creation story, so I won't hold it against you.  Now that we know the beginning...what's the setup during the age that the campaign takes place in?  And, how does this deviate (read as: how exactly is it better) than all of the other settings out there?

Not trying to offend, btw.  I'm actually curious.

Hey, Nightfall... you see that key to the right of all the letters and stuff, that looks like a backwards L with an arrow on it? You might want to use it sometimes if you're writing long blocks of text that you expect people to actually read.

Scarred Lands. Isn't this the campaign setting for Sword & Sorcery? Or am I just getting this mixed up with something else?
