Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I don't care about the Gaming Industry.

Quote from: CyberzombieNo, while I can see the *potential* for an end to the print media, I think that any thoughts of its demise are very premature.  And it reminds me of the claims of the paperless office, too, which obviously is not ever going to happen.  :)

when one of our company high-ups referred to my department as "now totally paperless!" he was surprised when some of us chuckled and giggled. ;)  obviously, our ass-kissing manager had told him something which is not true.  ;)  we still have several trees-worth of paper floating around (though, admittedly, it is far, far, less than it once was).
don't quote me on that.  :)

Quote from: mearlsThe goofy politics and high school-level social scene is just pointless.

This is one of the first things I noticed when I first got into the "industry." It reminded me of small-town politics or amateur sports league organizations in the futility and irrelevance of all the infighting. Why's it got to be your whole identity, people? Just make cool games and enjoy your job and your customers! (Unlike a lot of people in the industry, I love gamers and conventions. :) )

I don't really care about any industry except the one that gives me my paycheck - and even then I'm not going to worry about its troubles and buy crap in some lame effort to show support.

Make stuff I want, need or like; I'll buy it if I think its worth it.

After thinking about it for a while, I have to say that I do care about the gaming industry, after a fashion. I'd hate to see it go away, because of all the cool stuff it produces. This is true of industries like the comic book or movie industries.

This doesn't mean I'll support companies or the industry as a whole by buying stuff just for the sake of doing so. I want quality stuff. There is still more quality stuff being produced than I can afford to buy or store, and until that ends, I don't want the industry to die out.

4e definitely has an Old School feel. If you disagree, cool. I won\'t throw any hyperbole out to prove the point.
