Nightfall

So we start off today by the fact our alternating Sunday guy shows up. He knows we're almost done, but eh. So anyway we're on our way to the next glyph. We get there (but in the real world our DM forgot his minis AND his markers! His GF also forgot her character sheet. She drives back to get all of that.) and we all notice this mud flat that has like three towers and one rather large sink hole with something shiny in the center of it.

      Naturally we all try to stay away from it...but instead we (myself and our alternate player whose character is a Changeling Staff Magus) (NOTE! Pathfinder Changelings aren't the same as Changelings in 3.x/4th edition. They are female and are offspring of hags.) end up falling our butts because we can't make the Acrobatics check to stay balanced. So what happens? We slide towards the hole and find out the shiny things are actually giant pincers. (Pit of Salaac anyone?)

        Our Oracle of Battle manages to toss us an animated rope. We manage to get out, but by this time, the giant pincers have attacked the Magus like twice (2 confirm crits) and his AoA is also a confirmed critical...Guess who ends up dead... you guessed it! So now we're like "What do we do?! We don't have any Raise dead! (Weird I know but there you go.) I suggest (mostly because said player's wife's character already underwent this 'spell") that the druid should cast reincarnate. The DM suggest we go with "Limited Wish"...even though we're still not convinced the DM won't screw with that one. But he pink swears that, and whadda know, it works.
       
After erasing his negative levels, we go towards one of the towers (avoiding the pit as much as we can.) Inside we see two Charda (think 4 armed lizard like guys and you're half way there.) I try, as the paladin, to use my Diplomacy with them. It fails. The party starts attacking while I try not to hurt them. (Apparently not speaking their language doesn't help!)

       Long story short, we defeat them, find out the Chardas are under threat of "The Blood Wench" (Witch really but hey this is D&D.) to guard their place and the glyph. We manage to find our way down, the tied up charda alerts everyone. So next round 4 drow fighters and a priestess show up. We're all a little concerned...but after our conjurer cast acid pit, followed by grease and then the next round, stinking cloud, it was looking good. Of course between that round, our Magus decided "Hey what's behind this door?" She hears breathing...and opens the door. She get sneak attacked by a troglodyte Rogue with just his bare claws. Said rogue's ability is to make his sneak attack damage, any 1s or 2s are now threes, a minimum of 18 points of damage.
       
I show up to deal with that along with two Babaus'. Naturally I manage to put them down hard, but then as they die, the troglodyte sees this and runs (That and the fact he's got three guys up in his grill...) He runs away screaming "Freedom!!" So after our druid chases him down, takes his stuff (which isn't much...) and then lets him live, he keeps going. So now comes the Glyph...and we're like "It's almost 5:30...and we're not done with two glyphs..." So after we manage to have the Magus try (and FAIL miserably) at Use Magic Device checks (+13 doesn't work too well against a DC 30...) they all decide to attack the Glyph.
         
I stay back but the DM is like "You'd better attack it! Your god wants you to save the world!"  Before that happens, some one cast Blindness, which disables it for a round.  Then rest deal about 300+ of damage in various ways. Naturally the glyph doesn't like that...and almost blinds everyone that doesn't make a save. (+24 Fort save! Thank you!!!) So then the chardas tell us thanks for saving them (since the glyph and the troglodyte were in their hatchery and thus they needed their eggs...) and swore to aid us in anyway IF we did them a little favor. Which we did. Of course the favor turns out to be kill the pincer thing. We then found out is a giant ant from one of the mixed Elemental Planes (The plane of Mud) It didn't go well for me as I dropped to close to 1/10 of my HPs. (Stupid me forgot to heal up.)

             But we manage and then spent the day rest in the cave with the Genie. Then we head to this place called the Blood Forge. There, we see that the only way in is locked...so our conjurer used his dimensional step to 'hop' us across it. Inside were 4 driders, one Hezoru, 12 drow fighters and two drow priestesses. I rolled okay but our conjurer was the one to take out most of them thanks to a well timed (and unlucky rolls for the monsters) Prismatic Spray.

          This made most of the driders turn into statues. The rest suffered cold damage (at least 8 of the drow) died and got sent to another plane of existence. This was followed up with some chain lightining to the rest of the criters. I managed to get one hit on the Hezoru. But he died before I could do more. So then we were left with picking doors...and I picked the right one! Unfortunately it was also my day to find out how to fall upwards. While I was first in the order, the drow illusionist came after me and he cast reverse Gravity. Thus I fell upwards. So 3 rounds pass before they kill the wizard/illusionist. I start to fall. Feather fall thank you! (via our Conjurer). Then comes the Glyph. Unlike the last ones where it was pure luck on our part to disable them completely and without damaging us, this one was easy. It only required a DC 30 Intimidate.  Our Oracle made easy in just ONE shot via three d20s.

So now one glyph remains...and then the Master Glyph. Plus our NPC nemesis.

Personally I was just glad to get this over with. It means now we might actually get to Carrion Crown before the middle of September...

But we'll see.
