[WFRP 2E] Treasure tables?

I have a cute little dungeon waiting for my players, and I was wondering where could I find some treasure tables for it. Are there any official or fan-made tables? If the former, which book has them?

Karak Azgal has some very very basic treasure tables. Other than that, there's nothing for 2nd edition.

This is because of certain Swine that have taken over WFRP and have tried to rewrite history to pretend that WFRP is "not supposed to be about combat or killing things and taking their stuff or treasure". The best case being the WFRP fanboy who attacked Ryan Dancey when the latter stated that the Bestiary should have included treasure tables, telling him that this is something from evil D&D and "would never make sense in WFRP", having conveniently forgotten that WFRP 1ST EDITION HAD HUGE TREASURE TABLES.

Stupid fucker.

Anyways, because of these Swine it may be a long time before we see some basic useful things coming out as official product, treasure tables being one of them.

Realms of Sorcery details loads of potions and about twenty or so magic items. It doesn't have treasure tables, however. I'll have a hunt around and see if i can find anything for you.

No luck?

I've been trying to think up a system for rewards in the campaign I'm planning.  I may just cheat and modify the stuff in Mordheim (clunky, clunky stuff outside of a ruined city, tho.)

Yeah, i've not turned anything up. It's a bit lacking in the new edition.

I'll try working on a web enhancement for the BI site that details some random treasure tables. :)

Why do you need treasure tables?  Just give people stuff.

What i'll do is come up with some tables based on the slaughter margin of beasties.

I'll get some typical WFRP grim, gritty and farcical stuff in there as well. ;)

I've got two professional deadlines next week, so i'll not be able to do this till the week after. Keep an eye on the BI boards after that.

It seems that you really don't get the type of game Jong is trying to run.

No I get it old school dungeon hack.  And I still maintain why do you need treasure tables?  Just give the players stuff that you want.  Roll a D10 on a weapons table a few times, pick some coin and roll a percentile etc... If you want random there are enough tables to do random.

I'll second your recommendation to pick up Karrak Azgal it's a fantastic book on how to design a dungeon romp.  But treasure tables aren't needed.

Chargen is random, Beastman herd gen is random, chaos champion gen is random and I'm a lazy fucker.

I want my treasure tables.

In a different campaign, I would. That was the case with the last D&D group I ran.

However:

1) I'm not used to WFRP, so I don't know what's the average yield for a dungeon. I do know that magic items are rare (and dangerous), though.

2) The group is made of D&D and WoD veterans, and part of the game's charm for them (and me) is the randomness of certain things. Hell, this is the only group I know where players actively encourage as many people as they can to join, only because they enjoy the random character creation process. :haw:

Hey Nisarg,

It really pissed me off when there weren't any random encounter tables in D&D3. Have you felt similarly? I felt the designer's rationale was sort of lame and ignored the fact that when you consult generic random encounter tables it's because you need to generate something right there, or have the chance of doing so.

Leaving treasure tables out of WFRP strikes me as sort of stupid for similar reasons. Most GMs set their treasures by hand, but sometimes you need to generate one instantly, on the fly, because play has gone in an unanticipated direction.

Taking out these tools has been one of the bad developments of many newer game designs, IMO. Of course some games don't need them because they're about something different, but WFRP, as you point out, doesn't have that excuse.

I agree completely, which leads me to believe that you may have referred to me as "Nisarg" by mistake, and not the way most people do, as some kind of misguided intentional attempt to annoy me.  These days I go by RPGPundit.
