This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

A few years ago they reprinted the WEG Star Wars 1E RPG and Sourcebook for the 30th anniversary. I assumed they were straight reprints, but I think I recently read there might have been some changes or some incorporation of things from later editions.

Can anyone who might have both the original and the anniversary set confirm or refute this?

I thought they were identical save for some art layout changes or something.  I own the originals and not the new ones or I'd compare.

I think they only difference we noticed was the last page was an ad for the 'destiny dice' game and the crappy FFG Beta Box sets instead of the ad for the collector plate in the original.  They also had a modern forward for the first page.  We didn't see catch anything in the reprint itself.

There were  a couple of art changes, but nothing really significant as far as I can see.

What art changes?

...(My brother has my copies so I couldn't do an immediate check, I just went from what I remembered when I compared them before.)

I have them. And PDFs of the originals.

Off the top of my head, the art and content are not changed. There is a big 40th Star Wars anniversary logo on the back of the covers, and an advertisement for the FFG Star Wars dice game on the last page.
Other than that, it's the original system, no revisions, and original art and layout.

I have the originals but have played the FFG Star Wars game in recent years.

Have you all been running it in any era of Star Wars as-is or have you had to add in the fanmade ReUp version as well for extras?

Other than some Corporate Sector stuff, I have only ever run post-IV up to VI.

I'm at work, so I don't have access to the books. The biggest art change I remember is in the commercial starships section of the Sourcebook, the reprint has different art and layout than the original.

Maybe there is more than one version? One without changes and one with small changes?

I ran a game for my bother and nephew. I googled the stats for a Sheathipede shuttle from the fan made stuff, but used most of the stuff from the books with a little tweaks. I had a "boss" seargent stormtrooper with +1 pips to certain skills.
Set in the timeframe of The Mandalorian, whatever that's called by the fans.

I just picked this up last week. I haven’t had the originals since the early 90s. They disappeared during the first divorce of three. I couldn’t tell you if there were any differences anymore, but I can say I’m glad I found them. The secondhand market is all kinds of fucked up for these books. Just looking on eBay and seeing the supplement prices makes me wish they were reprinted too. I really dislike the newer SW stuff.

Largely I agree, though I used the revised edition, not the first. Saga looks interesting, the RCR for D20 was good, but missed a lot of the WEG feel. I really need to go through REUP, see how it updates things.

Appreciate the answers. I'll assume no substantial differences
