This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I'm surprised nobody has posted about it until now:).

It's got 3 more days. And for $20, you can get a whole lot of adventures and supplements, including even the WFRP1e corebook;)!

The problem is not that power corrupts, but that the corruptible are irresistibly drawn to the pursuit of power. Tu ne cede malis, sed contra audentior ito.

A great deal, but this is the 3rd thread about it. :D

In my opinion, it's worth it just for the WFRP1 Rulebook in pdf.  The conversion/layout is very well done.

Well, at least nobody else should have missed it:D!

Does anyone know already what WFRP 4e would be like?

We don't know a lot yet. There's actually going to be two separate games. The first, proper 4th edition is supposed to be heavily inspired by 1st and 2nd edition. There's also going to be an Age of Sigmar game using a different system, I believe.

Thank you, though I'd have to wonder why they thought two different systems would work better than one:).

Is it something like "something for the fans of the more modern system, and something for fans of the classical ones"? If so, yes, I can see that working better, but otherwise, I'd keep my doubts.

I think it's more because the tones of the games are meant to be so different. WFRP is probably going to be a bit darker and more grim - it is the game where people can start out as dung collectors and rat catchers in a world filled with horrible things out to kill you and corruption awaits you in every corner, after all. Whereas Age of Sigmar is about big damn heroes stomping around and smacking Chaos in the face with giant hammers.

Well, seems we'll know more when they are out, no point in speculations before that.

Yeah, I get that. In any case, they have separate pages on Cubicle 7's own site; the Age of Sigmar page is where it's announced that they will be independent games with different rules. Once any more information comes out, it should start showing up there. Really the only other pertinent info right now is that WFRP is supposed to launch later this year with AoS following in 2018.

Cubicle 7 put it something like this:
WFRP is the game where you see a Bloodthirster (WFRP Balrog) and run.
Age of Sigmar is the game where you see a Bloodthirster and charge.

To put it in White Wolf terms, WFRP will be Hunter, Age of Sigmar will be Exalted. :D

I'm glad they put that out there. I will ignore Age of Sigmar and play WFRP.

If you do the Humble Bundle you also get a 30% off coupon on a physical product at the Cubicle 7 store. I'm hoping they get a copy of the One Ring RPG core book in before the coupon expires. I picked up the book a few years ago when it first came out (the first printing that included the dice) and wasn't a fan of the rules. But, I love me some Adventures in Middle-earth and want to collect TOR for completions sake.

Even if this had been mentioned on the site before, thanks for posting this thread. It was the kick that I needed to go and grab the bundle.

Well, I've got Exalted already, they'd need something very good to make me bother with AoS, then:).

Yeah, thank you for reminding me - I think I can get some Victoriana;).

Yeah. Unless there's a delay it shouldn't be too much longer before we hear something more. I've got quite a few games from C7 (AME, TOR, Yggdrasill) so I'm used to how they do things. We'll likely see a PDF drop around the end of the year with a physical book seeing store shelves a month or so later. They should announce the pre-order a few weeks before the PDF is released.
