This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I've turned my wife on to "geeky" scifi shows as well, Mcrow.  We've just finished the second season of BSG and she loved Tin Man...

She was also more upset than me about the cancellation of Dresden.

We have the DVD set and my wife is reading Stom Front, the first book, as of last night.  She really likes it, and so do I.  It's like Mage without the goth/punk, wheee!

I hold no pretensions that the TV series is anything more than a competent (if sometimes a bit predictable) supernatural crime drama with a charismatic lead, an interesting milieu and lots of RPG potential.  In other words, S'okay by me.

Agreed.  Which makes it far better than most of the tripe that is on these days.

Quote from: McrowThe TV series was Ok.

OTOH it was just about the only "geeky sci-fi" (as my wife calls it) that my wife actually liked. It was sort of cool being able to sit and watch something "geeky" with my non-geek wife and have her actually enjoy it. :D

Try Supernatural. My wife loves that show.
"Tony wrecks in the race because he forgot to plug his chest piece thing in. Look, I\'m as guilty as any for letting my cell phone die because I forget to plug it in before I go to bed. And while my phone is an important tool for my daily life, it is not a life-saving device that KEEPS MY HEART FROM EXPLODING. Fuck, Tony. Get your shit together, pal."
