This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

...that aren't stupid.

I've just gotten into collecting them because some of the battles we have had in my game have benefited from a map. I kinda enjoy it, especially sense they are already painted.

The only thing I don't like about them is how god damned stupid most of them are.

But thinking back, that has always been a part of D&D, and something I've never liked, is how dumb most of the stuff in the monster manuals are. I've probably never used more than 5% of whats in there, and any more I don't even take the Pathfinder Beastiery with me to the game sense everything comes from folklore or out of my head.

That said, what I would do to get my hands on a big sack of pre-painted orcs, goblins, knights, elves, dragons, griffins and wizards. You know, shit that is actually in a real game. The Hero Quest miniatures are more functional for me than a random pack containing a Displacer Serpent, Praying Mantis 4 Weapon Assassin, Lava Elf, Dragon-winged Wolf, and Fire Elemental Salamander.

huh... I just found a website selling D&D minis assorted into groups like elves and orcs. Pretty cool. This one is Trollandtoad.com

It seems kinda expensive, but when I have money I may get some.
