I never played or owned this game, but I knew one of the guys involved in writing it. He lived in Edmonton and was fairly big on the scene in the 80s.

A few years back I knew a guy who had him for a math teacher.

The third edition publishing attempt fell apart in bad ways and I know the various parties had a real falling out.

It's a shame the Rebirth didn't take off but it just came too soon after people bought the third edition. I think if Brittania had focussed on supplements and modules they might have done better.

I just remember that he was a shameless self-promoter; he was quite sure that C&S was THE definitive fantasy RPG, and I think he always seemed kind of shocked that it never took off more than it did. I know that at one point he saturated the local gaming stores with a particular edition of C&S (I don't know which edition it was, one of the later ones I think, if I'm remembering correctly it wasn't a boxed set).

He kind of disappeared later on, or we moved in very different circles.
