I have another Star Wars ship you are welcome to take. I don't need one, but I can't help but make these things, and it eats up time! My players have a ship, thank you, and don't need this one. It's a yacht, or maybe a small charter cruise ship. I do think more ships need ballrooms!

Hell yeah! Especially ones where the ballroom is right behind the turret. Get this thing into combat at dinnertime, it's going to be awesome!

It's not SUPPOSED to go into combat! It's a YACHT! That turret is JUST IN CASE! That's why it's HIDDEN! No one would EXPECT a... Oh! I forgot! Player Characters...

Pretty fancy.
Quote from: Shawn Driscoll;1015872Pretty fancy.
This could easily be a yacht for a world's noble representative in Traveller. Just by looking at it, it is in the 1000 to 2000 ton range and could be used as an auxiliary warship.
Clash, you gotta be careful. If you made a collection of these and sold them, you might accidentally get people interested in your work!
When's the Kickstarter? I'm in.

Yachts tend to be like that, Shawn! :D

I can easily see a book of starship deckplans selling...because I buy them. :D
I blame FASA. They did entire ship deck plans, like down to the table and chair level, for a D-7 and Constitution-Class cruiser. Ruined me for life. :D
Although I caught the starship bug way earlier I guess thanks to Chris Foss.

It could be automated, or manned somewhere else... Yeah, I know I'mma killjoy...
Also, it's a bit large for a yacht, I'd call it more of a small cruise ship.
Even the smallest cruise ships can hold a couple hundred passengers. Maybe a passenger liner, but I can see this as the yacht of a Ellison/Gates type.

Actually, I'm gonna use it for my Rebel Spies game as a passenger liner. (My crew REALLY didn't like Rogue One. I was no impressed, but these guys? WHOLE NEW LEVEL!)

Rebel spies running a passenger liner with a hidden turbolaser turret, I like it.
It would also make a good crimelord's ship in Star Wars....
It's definitely a yacht-sized ship. My only quibble is that there's too few recreational zones for the passengers. There's literally nowhere for them to be except in their staterooms or the dining room (OK there's a small lounge nook with a couple of couches). I'd add a gym and library-type area.

This is Paul Allen's Yacht Octopus (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octopus_(yacht)), and it is larger and more luxurious. Yachts of the super wealthy can get enormous. :D

Yep! Good ideas! You could probably take out one stateroom's bedroom and lounge and put in those or the equivalent. I was figuring the Dining room would be very convertible - tables and stools drop into the floor for dancing, leave some tables out for a nightclub, table tops come off to make gaming tables for a casino... :D

A slight redesign could be in order?
Quote from: Christopher Brady;1016047A slight redesign could be in order?
I could do that. :D
By request, one stateroom deleted, one pool/Hot Tub, one Sauna, and one Dressing Room added!
Here you go, Chris: https://drive.google.com/open?id=11dpql6XjHF-Jw89YahtzCaRKd0tX7F_m
These ships you are providing are great! Thanks so much. I really appreciate the redesign because what self-respecting fancy yacht wouldn't have a pool or hot tub.
I note that you have seven (or eight) private bedrooms labeled #7 on the deck plan. That's accommodations for ~ 15 passengers, tops. Initially I questioned the dining room including 5 tables with seats for 30 people, but now I agree that makes sense so the owner can invite plenty of dinner guests who aren't passengers on the ship e.g. guests from the local planet and/or station and guests from a docked vessel.

I thought about that, and that was the main reason I went with it. Yachts spend a surprising amount of time in fashionable ports! :D
Of course, the Yacht owner wouldn't care how many people are in the stateroom, so long as they are sharing that big bed... :D

Hehehehe! The more the merrier! :D
I was looking at the staterooms myself. You would have the wealthy and fashionable individual with their significant other in the main bed. The bodyguard/valet would sleep on the couch in the living area. There would be at least one protocol droid analog to act as the bigwig's social secretary and business terminal. Make sense?

Absolutely! Super-wealthy people never go anywhere alone! They always have an entourage! There also may be other beds - fold out or tucked away - in case there are more - a child and nanny, or a slave. There is lots of room in the stateroom suites, and it's not like you are being charged per-person rates! The only reason the owner would need to know how many people you are bringing is for food. :D
I should also note that those windows in the lounge and along the side passages around the hidden turret are HUGE! They are floor to ceiling affairs providing spectacular views. Also the autochef would not only prepare meals of the finest quality, but would double as a bartender.
I think a party could slip into this ship, replacing the invited entourage or having somehow wangled an invite, to do some spying and/or thieving. That could be sort of like the Canto Bight scene in The Last Jedi.
You should really make a compilation book for sale, Clash. It would probably be popular. You couldn't say 'star wars', but you could call it space-opera, or space-wars, or whatever.

Thanks, Pundit, but I'd rather give them away. Then I can just do them as they come to me. Besides, what would I do with a success? I wouldn't know what to do! I'd probably just blow it all on stuffed porgs!

Sure, but only in hindsight. Anyway, I loved the movie personally; I'm just exaggerating for effect.

Now you're giving me flashbacks from the time I tried to reverse-engineer the light fighter from MongTrav1: "This deckplan makes no sense! How are you supposed to get 10dTons from this? What's the point of having a deckplan for a single-seater anyway? Waaaargh!".
Quote from: Dr. Ink'n'stain;1017495Now you're giving me flashbacks from the time I tried to reverse-engineer the light fighter from MongTrav1: "This deckplan makes no sense! How are you supposed to get 10dTons from this? What's the point of having a deckplan for a single-seater anyway? Waaaargh!".
Hahahaha! Yeah! Fighters don't need deck plans, just external illos! At 7 meters, this fighter is considerably smaller than an X-Wing, which is 12.5 meters long. That and it's unusual armament make it stick out. Visually, it is more aerodynamic than most star wars fighters, borrowing a bit from both F-16 and F-100 fighter jets.

So he really thought the lightsaber he built was the same color as the one that belonged to his father, Anakin Skywalker. Interesting. :D
I would have think that blue Bantha milk tasted different than the green milk of the Thala-sirens.

One would also think a farm boy could tell Banthas from Thala-sirens, but he may also be very near-sighted!

So! Things are adding up! Luke hardly seems the hero type - drinks colored milk, color blind, so nearsighted he can't tell a bantha from a thala-siren, kyber crystal from a gumball machine...
Aha! Luke is a GURPS Character! Using disads to pump up his Force score!
