Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Psionics and 5E, are they never going to happen?

2E didn't get psionics for a couple years after it came out, 3E had to wait a year, 3.5 didn't get a psionics update for a year or so, 4E didn't get it for 2 years and BX/BECMI never got psionics at all. Historically, 1E was the freak of the litter by shipping psionics in the core books, and even then it was tagged as optional.

5E hasn't even been out for a full year yet, so it's way too soon to start yer lips a-quiverin' over lack of psionics.
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.

Quote from: tuypo1;822423there weren't rules for psionics in 3e at first either past the non magical psionics varient (which i do use) and they still had psionic lilithids

Even in 3.5, the Monster Manual mind flayer's "psionics" were just spells.

Quote from: danskmacabre;821826I remember Psionics from the old ADnD.
I did use it for a bit and it seemed kind of messy and sort of "bolted on in a bad way".

Was there any edition of the game in which this was not the case?

A handful of monsters in the 5E Monster Manual have psionics. While many are spells without components some are actual abilities like the aboleth's psychic drain or the mind flayer's mindblast. The gray ooze can evolve to become psionic and gain psychic crush.
