D&D is becoming Self-Referential.  It is no longer Setting Referential, where it takes references outside of itself. It is becoming like Ouroboros in its self-gleaning for tropes, no longer attached, let alone needing outside context.

Nathan Fillion, playing Captain Malcolm Reynolds in a Firefly event at GenCon SoCal.

Denys Mordred / Ian Noble was the GM of that Firefly session. He's posted here a few times. You can PM him here or on RPGnet for more details on that GenCon game. I forget which name he uses on which forum.

Nathan taught the players a bunch of Chinese curse words, but damn imagine the pressure on the gamer playing Captain Mal.
