This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Better yet, what's "AMP"?

AMP:Year One from Third Eye Games.

It's kinda like Heroes and Alphas.

The system has no stats and is a single d20 + mods
"Two-Skill Check: Most checks are made by taking the value of two different Skills, putting them together and then rolling 1d20 to get your total check. For instance, Repairing a computer would require Crafts (to show you are fixing it) and Technology (because of what you are fixing). "
or
"Single-Skill Check: Sometimes only a single Skill affects the outcome. In this case, the player receives x1.5 of the value for their Skill to perform the check. For instance, throwing a straight punch uses the Fighting Skill only. If the characters had Fighting 4, they would actually roll 1d20 with a +6 bonus (4 x 1.5)."

Interesting, I get a very Aberrant vibe from the description. But not as high powered.

"The salient fact of American politics is that there are fifty to seventy million voters each of whom will volunteer to live, with his family, in a cardboard box under an overpass, and cook sparrows on an old curtain rod, if someone would only guarantee that the black, gay, Hispanic, liberal, whatever, in the next box over doesn't even have a curtain rod, or a sparrow to put on it."

-My own opinion is enough for me, and I claim the right to have it defended against any consensus, any majority, anywhere, any place, any time. And anyone who disagrees with this can pick a number, get in line and kiss my ass.

-Be very very careful with any argument that calls for hurting specific people right now in order to theoretically help abstract people later.

Thank you for the review. Interesting system but sounds too narrative based for my taste though I might try it out if a slot comes up in another game.

Very nice. Very straightforward. My long explanation got eaten but its traditional: roll 1d20+Skill 1+Skill 2 beat TN, or in some cases 1d20+(Skill Value x1.5) the later is for when you are using a single skill instead of the normal 2 skills added together.

Powers come from a super soldier experiment on your parents/grandparents that failed--it made a few monsters, and nothing else. Now you? Happen to get powers. They're divided by the, Strain or type of formula that was used on them and what kinds of powers it produces. You can buy a power out of your Strain for more than normal price.

The game shows that powers can be pretty broad within a strain, and you can buy augments and other additive elements that add more oomph to your single power or what have you. It is meant to be very focused.

The game details an entire year's happenings for the game, plot stuff, and you can get tangled in that or do your own thing. The intent is to do multiple year AMP games and each one adds more stuff. I'm not sure about this latter bit, but *shrugs*

The game has of course Skills, Advantage/Disadvantage stuff, powers, and Juice, Juice is stuff you can power your ability with and do some other things with from what I understand. It doesn't have "attributes" per se, that stuff is covered by skills. Except a derivative for Initiative and Strength.

I may be slightly mistaken on how Init/Strength work, because it was a quick reading.
