This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Trying to find/remember an RPG

Hello Guys,

I'm trying to remember the name of a pen and paper rpg I used to own and I thought that maybe you guys could help. I used to have a txt file of it maybe ten years ago. I only remembered it because I recently remembered the name of another rpg (Monsters and Mazes, thanks to this forum :) ) and I had both rpgs around the same time.

The game was all contained in a single plain (and loooong) text file. Styled with nothing but tabs and | . The premise of the game was that a ton of people had gotten onto this advanced spaceship (possibly to evacuate earth?). The advanced spaceship was flying through Mid-Space? (like hyper-space.. but different for some reason?). During the flight all the people were suspended in sleep so as not to age during the trip. However, during the trip something when wrong with the main computer system. The ship became stuck in mid-space and it delved into the on-ship electronic library database and transformed all the people into creatures from the books, and reorganized the ships interiors to match the landscapes of said books. Then it woke the people/creatures up.

And that is where the story takes place.
I remember the system being very flexible and it would take place in any time period since the computer had a large database of fiction. Different time periods could interact too, I think.
Eventually the characters could find out that there were on a ship stuck in space, but you could play the entire game without ever touching that.

Also.. I remember there being a long list of power to choose from so you could customize your character. and I think you got new powers by collecting rings.

I believe the game was named after the ship, but I can't be sure..

Well.. that's all that I remember, does this ring a bell for anyone? I would love to find it again and read though it, maybe even get a game started.

Thanks in advance,
Sincerely,
Chimeforest
