This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

[UA] James Bond

I am looking at using the UA system for a Bond game and was looking for a few ideas. I was trying to work out the most appropriate Avatar for Bond or any top spy, particularly with the "00" rating. Currently I am thinking the Executioner simply because of the License to Kill slogan, however it does not seem a comfortable fit. The Masterless Man, MVP, and Warrior also seem to be less of a fit and was wondering if anyone else had any alternatives or suggestions?

In terms of Adepts there seem to be a few more choices. An Entropomancer could represent the gambling aspect of Bond, even where he is captured and uncovers the plot in the course of his escape. A Personomancer could reflect his chaemeleon ability to blend in to situations and adopt temporary personas, such as lab technicians, security guards etc. Q would be an interesting mechanomancer, and I am actually playing with the idea of making M a videomancer and almost having a reality within reality through the movie production.

Any help would be appreciated, I'm reposting to this site after not much help elsewhere.

Cheers
Curtis

Cryptomancers make good spies as do Avatars of the Two Faced Man. Not exactly Bond as the films protray him, definately not in the Cryptomancer example but workable.

I agree that a Executioner would work well for an action movie Bond.
Is your UA more Furious Action or Power and Consquences?

Why are these various dukes adopting the roles in James Bond fiction? Is it a ritual? A wacked out Cabal idea? Or are you doing a strange sort of conversion?

I would create my own Super Spy Avatar. Or have him be for a different Custom Avatar like One Man Army or Womanizer King (although he'd be competing with Ben Franklin and Rocco Siefredi on that one).

P.S Hey Mr. Lost, are you a Juggalo?

No, my avatar pict is of me in heavy makeup as a scary Mime (as shameless inspired by VtM Malkavians) from one of the haunted houses I was volunteering at in '01 but thank you.

To the OP, now that I have reread your post. Why do you need James Bond to have magick at all. If I was in your shoes, I'd just scrap the magick part of the system to run James Bond style action. Hell, you don't need Mechanomancer gadgets. The spy characters could have a special skill spy gadget skill or something that would let them have the right thing for the job, of course they could take a shift to the roll if they decide to use it in a way that would destroy it. As always, just a suggestion.
