You need less EXP to level. But the monsters tend to give less EXP too.

Monsters in the playtest at least had their combat and HP boosted, sometimes signifigantly. A Next Minotaur is a real powerhouse now 7d10+14 HP (52 default). Great Axe doing 2d12+1(17 default), gore doing 2d8+4 (13 default) 4d8+4 if it catches you in a charge. And rage to take a reduction to to-hit while gaining a +10 damage boost.

A level 5 fighter has like 34 minimum HP before con bonus. 2 attacks a round plus whatever path said fighter went for. 1d8 with say a long sword. 1d10 used 2 handed.

Playtest we did with that setup had the fight lasting 5 rounds with the fighter using all the skills to stay on his feet and me blowing the last of my spells to wear it down. Took a charge + gore cor nearly all my 22 health for the trouble. But left the Minotaur open for the fighter to land a killing blow.

We used up our HD to rest and heal and then beat a hasty retreat. Stirges we'd missed previously but found now nearly did us in!
