This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

"Rhaa lovely!"
Swords & Wizardry & Manga ... oh my.
(Beware. This is a Kickstarter link.)

Quote from: One Horse Town;590011Well, my avatar is the cover Jon Hodgson did for Stone Horizons.

You should get a better look-see by clicking on the thumb-nail.

Wow. Earlier today I was in a local book store where I saw the brand new reprint of Hans Bemmann's classic fantasy novel, Stein und Flöte.

Congratulations, Jon, that your piece of art graces one of the finest examples (IMHO) of fantasy/faerie tale literature!

(Even though I find the choice a bit weird because the image doesn't resemble anything that happens in that book. The older covers--German and English ones alike--were more fitting, but also a lot more generic.)

Yeah, Jon asked if he could use the rights for the pic in the German market.

I wonder how that handicaps a potential German edition of Stone Horizons.
I'd hate it if that would have to use a different cover...

Imperator

Congratulations, Dan. Great job :)

Well, what I have read shows good progress and a cool idea. So good job so far, again :)

It shouldn't do, given the different markets the two books occupy and the contracts in place.

Additionally if I get time I'd like to update the Stone Horizons piece to 2012 standards. Nothing major, but it'd hopefully look slightly better painted than when I initially did it.  :)

Hmmm. Not quite sure what they did to the tone and colours, but hey, that's all out of my hands.

Yeah - they really upped the saturation, didn't they?
