Would 4E have been more successful/less reviled...

Quote from: Tetsubo;505303It isn't that I *want* it to be a big deal. I would in fact rather it be a non-issue. But it *remains* a big deal to me. My reaction to the above comment was lightning quick anger. I became enraged. Even after all of this time. I spoke out loud through gritted teeth. For me, Pathfinder *is* D&D and 4E is *not* D&D. I don't care what label you slap on a product. The content itself matters to me. And for me to expand the definition of D&D far enough to encompass 4E I would also have to include Rights and HERO.

It is petty and mean spirited of me. It is embarrassing. But it is what it is. I still would have preferred WotC to shut the doors, turn off the lights and let D&D die out than turn it into something I don't want. It is ugly and I am not proud of myself.

All I can do is sit back and laugh because if you are so emotionally charged about such mundane things that YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER, you need to FIND ANOTHER hobby.

Also, I am very pleased to know that people like you are in the minority as far as seeing the D&D name brand disappear.  SO, you are not happy with what is going on with D&D as a whole but you are willing to pull the switch and piss on all those who prefer to keep it going and se what happens.

What a sad creature you are.

Tetsubo, I wonder if you would have been OK if the game was called D&D Tactics, as in a tactical miniatures game with D&D thematic licensing atop. It wouldn't be "D&D" as we understand it as an RPG, but just like any other D&D branded derivational products.
Just make your fuckin\' guy and roll the dice, you pricks. Focus on what\'s interesting, not what gives you the biggest randomly generated virtual penis.  -- J Arcane

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.
