This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Running Pirates of Drinax for two middle schoolers and my wife. Always wanted to run this, but only skimmed it. They are new to Traveller, but not to roleplaying. I did run a really quick mission where they destroyed a derelict (and an enemy salvaging drone) to get them into the game and acclimated to the system.

What would be your top two adventures to start out with out of the 9 (not Finale, obviously) to help break them in?

Thanks.

I have always kicked things off with the first one, Honour Among Thieves. It introduces Theev, gets the players thinking strategically about bringing systems into the fold, and there is a bit of action. Sets up the themes of the campaign nicely.

However, I have also seen someone start off with the Shadows of Sindal mini-campaign, and that seemed to work well.

My favorite starter Traveller adventure is High-n-Dry.  The players are hired by the Scout Service to travel to a remote planet and retrieve a Scout Ship.
