This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Thought I had a thread on this, but guess not....

I have updated my Subsector Generator in Excel and placed it here for download:

http://www.youshare.com/KenHR/a28434/DisplayAdvanced

Currently generates a subsector (using the MongTrav "Hard Science" and "Space Opera" mods), calculates trade between any two systems on the map, generates a full set of encounter tables for any mainworld, and generates solar systems using the Scouts rules.

Lots of little bugs still, but this is an ongoing project.  Let me know what you think!

Already checked this out over at TBP, but thanks again... great stuff. :)
The Secret Volcano Base: my intermittently updated RPG blog.

Running: Pathfinder Scarred Lands, Mutants & Masterminds, Masks, Starfinder, Bulldogs!
Playing: Sigh. Nothing.
Planning: Some Cyberpunk thing, system TBD.

Thanks!

Any ideas for what else it could incorporate, or suggestions to improve using it, or tips on being more efficient with my formulae are always welcome!

Updated to 0.1c.  You can now choose Classic LBB3 UWP generation or use the Mongoose Traveller Hard Science and Space Opera procedures.

Still working on a method to allow manual entry of UWPs and to freeze UWP values in place.

Also trying to get a macro-less version working...but even though I erase the macros, the computer still thinks there is VBA code in the file!

Cool. I'll have to check this out, since I'm running MongTrav every few weeks.

Grrr...if anyone's having trouble downloading the file, I have a question in with support.  I might just go to a different site for this stuff...

Updated to v0.2.  Added a manual entry tab, allowing you to enter your own UWP data or modify randomly generated data.  WARNING: SAVE THE SPREADSHEET UNDER A NEW FILENAME BEFORE EXPORTING YOUR MANUAL DATA AS THIS WILL ELIMINATE THE CALCULATION FORMULAE FOR RANDOM GENERATION.

I will be adding a speculative trade module to the sheet down the road, but most modifications from here on out are going to concentrate on improving the sheet's flow and fixing stuff that's not working properly with solar system generation (this will require me to buff up on my VBasic).

If you have problems downloading, feel free to PM me if you'd like to check it out and I'll gladly e-mail a copy.

Updated to 0.2a.  Note to self: macros do not update range references when you move stuff around on a worksheet.
