This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Ian AbsentiaTechnically, development of the rules themselves have been allowed to continue, just not under the Traveller umbrella, using the Traveller universe.
The Translight rules currently under development by Avenger bear no relation to ACT. The ACT rules were firmly based on the original Classic Traveller rules and MJD would be breaking the spirit, if not the letter, of his agreement with MWM if he were to file off the serial numbers and call it something else. From what I know of MJD as a games publisher, that's not his style.

So. Anyway. ACT is dead. Translight is a completely new stand-alone SF system. T5 will be the new Traveller, for better or worse.

Would you like some Traveller dice with that? :naughty:

I got mine last week, though from another vendor. I mean, 5 bucks per die, how is that not a good deal? The halberd of a GW orc is more than that.

Before I die I want to meet Lou Zocchi of Gamescience. He's supposed to be quite mad.

Hah those are wonderful!  I'm maximising my fudge dice investment by porting Traveller to Fate instead though.

Damn maybe I will buy some of those anyway.  I'm so easy.

Ditto, and praying to the Gamer Gods that everything will turn out right in the end.

I was part of the playtest for a little while before I had to take care of some other commitments instead. There was some very cool stuff and some very questionable stuff that I saw, but I've got the feeling that what I was witnessing was very much A Work In Progress and subject to change.

Bearing some resemblance to BRP... this could be good...

See, when this happens to me I congratulate myself for having the sense and foresight to dump her.

Well the joy of this analogy is I still date her and she's still 18, hot, and a little naive.  What's confusing is why there have been so many efforts to turn her into a frazzled soccer mom.

Ah.  I conflated the two.  My apologies for the misinformation.

Something unique.
I think this is the the first time I've ever seen a Traveller thread become a wanking thread.
Ever.

Congratulations? :D
