They're doing Traveller minis but they only produced a thousand Vargr!

David, will you join me in declaring this "Limited-Edition Vargr Minis" bidness to be incalculably poopies?

EDIT: This better not be somma that "Back into the Disney vault!" jazz, or I swear I will pack up a shovel and some tar and lighter and go face-hunting.

25mm Traveller minis?  WTF?  There is no way these vargr will fit in my starships.

Sadly it looks to me like they got exactly what they wanted.  Fast sales to guys who might not otherwise have bought them.

Personally, the problem with their sales has more to do with the really poor modern figures and wide range of other recycled figures that get mixed in with the Traveller stuff.  Distributors decide to pick up the range, most of it doesn't sell, so they don't re-order it.  Mega-minis goes "Oh, I guess there's not much demand for Traveller stuff these days!"

I have a pack of the Droyne and I'll be ordering a pack or two of the Vargr since they'll nicely round out my two boxes of old Grenadier Aliens (from which I have a whopping 4 Vargr total!)

I think they'll find that the sales pick up when T5 comes out.  Unless the ball is, once again dropped down a bottomless pit.

Blasphemy, isn't it?  A proper Traveller miniature is in 15mm scale -- no more, no less.  All of this 25mm bother is for those GURPS and T20 cretins (a pox on their benighted hides).

I was going to say... I had two boxes of 15mm Trav minis back in the day, one of which for Striker IIRC.

Quite frankly, they looked liked shit.

Yeah the official Traveller minis were pretty awful.  Seems to me I used a much smaller scale for Striker though -- some modified WW2 at 4mm or so it think.

The Citadel 15mm ones were better sculpted and cast than the Grenadier 25s.

Martian Metals were terrible, but they had a few excellent vehicle kits that RAFM's made available again.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the Citadel ones as generic sf guys.

On the other hand, I've got the Mega Minis Droyne and they're nice if a little plain.  I think the Vargr look the same though it can be hard to tell with painted stuff.

Once again Traveller gets the shaft.

Oh also GURPS uses 1"=3' that's 1/36 not 1/58 like 28mm.  What kind of wargamer uses an expanded ground scale?  There's not enough room on the table as it is.  Oh well...

If anyone can send me a box of those 25mm Vargr minis - I will you pay you for them. I use the GURPS rules for TRAVELLER .

I could definitely use those - but I don't have an eBay account.

I'm thinking about getting one just for this auction.  Well, and I need a paypal account so I can start trying to make some money off my work some how eventually anyhow.

It's all pretty fuzzy at present.  I need to get the next Atomosaurs comic inked and up by tommorow too, I'm running late already.  So many projects so little time.

Well, I broke down and ordered some.  There's 39 left now.  I'll bet with the rush over there'll still be some left to list when the next batch is put up for sale.

Hell, it's Traveller minis, I'll buy it.
