SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: estar on October 18, 2021, 03:17:11 PMReading things for oneself is always highly recommended.

Problem is, you can't read it without paying for it and once you've paid for it, it no longer matters if it's good or bad as WotC already has your money.

It's why paid reviewers are so effective.

Funny you should say that, because I was able to read it at the local Books-a-Million without paying for it.
That was YOU? Dammit Happy, I only have 15 minutes before the wife gets out of Bed Bath and Beyond and then it's off to the grocery store. We told you it's not a damn library!

Facts say otherwise.  If a bookstore allows for extensive browsing, take them up on it. It's not that I don't buy books there--usually novels from the buy 2, get 1 free tables--but I don't buy game books from there. However, it's a great place to read through a WotC book that I'm very unlikely to buy in any case.

I was joking. Take as much time as you like.

Quote from: Godsmonkey on October 19, 2021, 09:44:37 AMIt's no big shock to me that Web DM is all in on the book. They are the woketards it was written for. I chose to unsubscribe to their channel as it became increasingly obvious that they are part of the "woke" crowd.

I watched them for a while years ago. For me, Jim's habit of parroting everything said to him grated after I noticed it. But I unsubscribed when Jim flat out stated that he didn't even enjoy 5e, and this after opining for 100s of hours on the subject. I'm not sure what video that was but I'm sure it's still there somewhere. It was at that point that I realised that to them it was not really their hobby, it was their act. It is somewhat annoying to have that space taken up by people like that, as it draws the natural audience away from the more genuine but less popular pundits.
