This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Yes, I noticed that I parse the OSRIC wiki much more easily than I grokked AD&D 1st edition rules in olden times.

An hearty "thank you" to those who provided that Wiki !

Quote from: Spinachcat;1089268I will definitely be taking a look to see what I can pilfer for my OD&D games!

I missed this bit before, but one thing I think is going to be different about this wiki is that Pres-gas would like to ingather fan OSRIC material into an expanded version of some sort.

The original version would remain vanilla, with another version that was expanded.

So for those looking to plunder ideas for their games, or people who've made stuff for OSRIC, I believe the wiki will at some point be set up to add in anything they may wish to memorialize on it.

Pres-Gas has continued to expand this resource for harried DMs and eager players - it now incorporates Kellri's material for Dangerous Dungeons, which has been in development for over a decade; hundreds of pages worth of expansions for OSRIC - both additional material from 1E that didn't make the cut into OSRIC and also a metric ton of original takes. This wiki expansion will help get the already-playable information in front of more gamers, and make it easy to use at the table.

If you're unfamiliar with Dangerous Dungeons - it's tons of great new stuff like:

races (amazon, northmen, southmen (think stygians), firbolg gnomes, river drwarves and dozens more);

classes (reworked UA classes like cavaliers & barbarians, kung-fu monks, troubadours, witches, warlocks (demonologists) and more;

expanded rules for high level classes in the core books

Assistance to the DM in quickly putting together groups of various humanoids

A massive plethora of 1E monsters and spells that didn't get into OSRIC, plus new varieties contributed by 1E fans

Expanded weapon and equipment tables

Additional rules for campaigning in aerial/underwater environments, and other less-often-used areas of the game

Tables for generating tombs and other underground play environs

And much, much more!

Big kudos to Pres-Gas for his work in getting this up and on the internet in wiki form - hundreds of pages worth of new D&D juice for existing campaigns, at your fingertips!
