This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Thondor;833610It is still on Yonge Street. It was originally at 401 Yonge Street, hence the name, but moved to 518 Yonge Street. A little further away from Ryerson University, but in a nice "shopping area."
401 actually started as a convenience store, that started carrying Magic cards . . . and the rest is history.

Ah. Well, it's good to know, since every few years pass through Toronto.

Quote from: camazotz;833542It's an interesting case that when someone doesn't live near a game store, or has no decent game store around that they tend to question why one needs an FLGS.

I live near two game stores.  One that is 10 minutes away another that is 20 minutes away.  And I don't need either of them.  I buy online.  I was brought into gaming by a group of friends at school and I can get what I need cheaply and I have gamers to game with.

The nearest game store for me is literally in another country.  And it's still shitty.  I'm pretty sure to get to a decent one I'd need to go to another continent.
