This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Thank you so much for the Molatar link!

A dragon/werewolf evangelical christian! Molotar is so going to be the big baddie in one of my games. Finally an excuse to run Magitech...

I totally missed my SAN roll, I know.

Added a couple of links. First to the Maps of the ancient world - thanks, JongWK! ;) - and next to The Iridia Zine - a general roleplaying ezine, with an occasional focus on D&D and GURPS. Most of the system-specific articles are of general use, though. Published weekly, up to issue #42 now.

The list is starting to look a bit unwieldy, I think. I'd ike suggestions for how to break down the categories a bit for some clarity. PM or email {kyle3054(at)iprimus.com.au} me, let's keep the thread itself for new links.

Added a link to Uncle Figgy's Guide to Good Gaming. A good general discussion of roleplaying, types of gamers, how to make a campaign, and so on. Also pretty funny in a lot of parts, if only in that, "oh god yes" forehead-slapping way, "Sometimes, though, players won't leave the group despite the fact that they're not getting what they want."

And no, JimOz from Hero Games Forums is someone else.

Okay, if this is such a good discussion, I don't know how to click on links, 'cause every one of those links leads me to one of those domain-squatting search sites.
Heroism is no more than a chapter in a tale of submission.

When you hover your cursor over the link, you should see "web.archive.org". The original Uncle Figgy site is dead, this is the archived version - like Kate Monk's Onamastikon. If you go to the archived version, you'll see it fine - the text, anyway.

Ahhh. It takes actual work to get the pages themselves, and this might just be for me but the formatting is a tragedy. Still great list in general.

Strange. Simply clicking on the links works for me, and others I've talked to online. The formatting's bound to be whacked, it's an archived thing, essentially you just get the text - but the text is worthwhile.

Next time please PM or email any broken or troublesome links, so that when people see this list has popped up again, they know it's an update.

Posted a link to Caudex's excellent Streets of Shanghai webpage, talking about the international city of Shanghai in the 1920s.

Also did a reorganisation of the links categories, should make it easier to zero in on what you're after. Again, suggestions are welcome.

This really should be stickied again :D

Added a link to Timeless Myths - about Celtic, Norse and Arthurian myths and stories, very good for getting that flavour to a campaign. The pages are a bit scattered about, but the actual information is very good, and interesting.

I've added a new category, Games under construction. I originally said that this list was for general roleplaying resources rather than specific systems, but I think we can make an exception for games which are under development, and inviting input. The whole point of the list of links is to provide us with entertainment and inspiration, and seeing a game being built and helping to build it is entertaining and inspirational. It helps keep you gaming!

The first link in this category is MARINER - "Modern-Day Adventure on the High Seas". "... dedicated to the brainstorming and development of a modern-day roleplaying game using the classic roleplaying rules set, Traveller."

If any of you know of any other projects like this - not just rules-writing, but stuff which is open to real collaboration - please let me know by PM or email, and I'll link it up.

Great stuff, JB. I only just read this for the first time, and, well - thumbs up.

And I'm not just saying that because I'm in it.

Added a link to a pretty funny current rpg.net discussion, RPG Theory I learned from rpg.net, with many examples of stupid shit people say about rpgs.
