This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The 666 Layers of the Abyss!

All this cosmology talk has got me thinking. I guess that a few layers have had details sketched out. How about we get our creative juices flowing and detail as many as we can? 666 is probably out of the question, but let's see how far we can get!

Layer 278 - The Dustbowl

This plane resembles a lifeless, rocky plain. No vegetation mars its simple uniformity. Shale slopes, gritty plains and weathered rocky outcrops stretch as far as the eye can see. Organic material withers and decays quickly on exposure to the Dustbowl. Leather rots in hours, food spoils in minutes and the vegetation withers on the vine in moments. Creatures that have no regenerative powers quickly sicken and die. The Dustbowl is the playground of Demons who regenerate and they often come here for sanctuary. As such, groups of homeless Demons can be found here. The leader of this layer is Grom'k, the Desecrator. A fiendish creature who kills with a touch. He holds court over disparate groups of exiles and runaways.

Oh well, back to casting aspertions, making ill-informed judgements and shit. I'll be sitting over there.

I don't see that Clash was "threadcrapping"; I think that with 666 layers in the abyss, at least some of them would be slightly silly. At least, I know in my game it would be. Evil and torturous, but silly.

Booo! Hisss!

I liked Clash's version of a layer of hell.  I can even imagine some kind of bizzaro adventure - even from D&D, where Barrier Peaks had a...well...no spoilers from me....

what would adventurers do - marvel at the magic until they were sucked in a could not escape (Will save or diE!!!).

No worries mate. I got fed up with all the bollocks being spouted, so thought i'd try to get some creative stuff going. Bit tetchy, i guess. :deflated:

I read the thread title as "666 LAWYERS of the Abyss."

Perhaps there is a layer where it's nothing but lawyers all the way down?

So far I've written about thirity descriptions. Not sure if I can do all six hundread and sixty six, but I think I can do about hundread. When I get that far I'll post what I've done.
