This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

It's not a billion miles away from FATE, but I could see why it wouldn't be your sort of game.

I'm with Ghost Whistler, here...   Why isn't it?  Elaborate!  Please!  What about it doesn't scratch your particular itch?

Also, which version of Cortex?
And does it include the three versions of Proto-Cortex as well? (The three variants of Sovereign Stone - Quickstart, First Edition, and Revised.)
Swords & Wizardry & Manga ... oh my.
(Beware. This is a Kickstarter link.)

Skywalker

Cortex+ refers to Smallville, Leverage, Marvel Heroic and Dragon Brigade (which is upcoming IIRC)

Yes, I know. My question to Pundit was if he just doesn't care for the + variant or rather the whole family of rules, and if the former, what's wrong (or just not interesting) about this particular rule set.

The non- "+" version is basically a mediocre game; the "+" variant is a mediocre game infused with significant elements of storygaming, making it a disaster.

explain, ffs.
"Ghost Whistler" is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.

Oh goody, let's have the "it's a storygame!" "it's not a storygame!" "your mom's a storygame!" argument again. We all learned so much last time.

The fuck?

Pundit claims evidence for this particular system, three times he has been challenged to provide that evidence in light of what are otherwise ad hom nonense remarks.

I'm not asking for anyone to whine about storygames. I'm asking him to explain his opinion.

For once.

Yes...    There comes a point where trying to be cryptic just makes you look/sound like an asshole. Call it Kosh's law, if you will.

And, honestly, I really don't want Pundit to sound like an asshole.  I'd like Pundit to explain his opinions with only the depth with which he can.

*sigh*

Looking at the level of activity in this thread, should I just ask for a pony as well?
