Quote from: Hastur T. FannonI'm seriously considering adding the Horror Check mechanic from Grim Tales to nWoD.  Does that count?

If it does, then I'm in trouble over my plans to port nWoD Humanity rules to Buffy.  :p
I have a theory, it could be witches, some evil witches!
Which is ridiculous \'cause witches they were persecuted Wicca good and love the earth and women power and I'll be over here.

The vehicle combat section of Twilight 2000, the character generation of FATAL (for that extra surprise), the combat section of Rifts, the spell system out of Mage, character advancement out of 4th edition Gamma World, and to top it off....

The gunfight rules of 1ED Top Secret!

Now, for the Adventure series? How about using Adventure: Flowers in the Attic
I am becoming more and more hollow, and am not sure how much of the man I was remains.

Quote from: BagpussI'm not that familiar with Adventure, how would it adapt to using it for L5R?
I don't know L5R, but Adventure! is generally fairly easy to adapt to any setting.  The game will then be Adventure! in that setting, with two-fisted heroes etc, but if that's ok, most things are possible (some settings will be more work, of course, but that's to be expected.)

Bagpuss

Excellent two fisted heroes sounds entirely inappropriate for L5R.

Flowers in the Attic just screams Feng Shui to me...

Actually, if I wasn't seriously creeped out by the whole concept of the game a "Little Fears: Flowers in the Attic" campaign would be really, really cool

Ahh, Korrrrk, still alive, my old friend... :)

Using Amber for XCrawl might be interesting. How about using GURPS Vehicles for character generation, the game mechanics of TWERPS, and setting the whole thing in Tekumel?

Adventure! would be just perfect to run a Smurfs game - or Wraeththu (sp?).

Lemme give the Frankengame design a go. Let's see.....Shadowrun combat using Battletech hit location rules, combined with Harnmaster character creation, GURPS vehicle design system....all set in the world of Furry Pirates. :combust:

This isn't strictly by the rules, but ...

Because I like westerns.

Take the Deadlands setting but we'll use the stat block from Warhammer.  However some people feel Warhammer has too few skills so they will come from Rolemaster.  Since we are using Rolemasters's skills we need to complement them with something equally as vast in the nifty trick factor.  Of course D20's feats list will fill this void.

The hit location system has to be transplanted in from Battletech.  However, because it's a western Guns are important and well nothing adds detail to guns like the trajectory system from Phenix command.  But using all of Pheonix command would get bogged down to quickly so we'll use the general combat mechanics from Feng Shui.

Feng Shui wasn't really designed to do socail interaction very well so for that we'll take a couple tips from My Life With Master.  The magic system will be totally free form and descriptive with the rules based on what feels right at the time.  Lastly no dice, becasue this is Deadlands we will use cards instead of dice, however they will be tarrot cards.

For the first challenge, a friend and I actually have a playtest version consisting of the following: the magic rules from ars magica, pretty much all the other mechanics from Cinematic Unisystem (with a dash of Full thrown in for good measure) and an adaptation of the skill advancement mechanics from BRP/Call of Cthulhu.  All set at a Harry-Potter-esque English magic school.  FTW?

For the second, I think Adventure! would be a great system to run a Nicotine Girls game.  Y'know, for those who like a crunchier mechanic than the the "official" system offers. :naughty:

Levels and Hit Dice from D20 for Call of Cthuhlu. Nah, that's too horrible to even consider.
