This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). 1. That's a lot of books.

2. 4E engagement: minimal.

3. Sooo... everything's fine and dandy, but meanwhile they've been bought by a computer game company???

First WW, now this. I guess the recession is truly upon is.

Interesting how Sprange talks down the success of 4e. I wonder if he knows something the general public doesn't about its unit sales, and is reluctant to hitch his business to it.
You can shake your fists at the sky. You can do a rain dance. You can ignore the clouds completely. But none of them move the clouds.

I posted the same question on my blog today.

I'm glad to see Traveller doing well, though.  I don't think Mongoose needs any more damned licenses, though. :p

I'm also curious to see how much of Uncle Gary's stuff is going to be associated with them.

Er...color me half-blind and witless, but what's the rumpus with White Wolf?

They're pwned by this Icelandish company that produces Eve Online.

Wait a minute... Iceland... whoa... not a good country to flee to from a recession right now.

Hunh.  Isn't Iceland about to lease itself out to Russia?

Anyway, yes, now I recall hearing about the Eve Online deal.  Hrm.

I'm hoping we can eventually get a Traveller MMO out of this.   Please, please, please...

I can't read the link, but inferring from other people's posts, is it possible CCP wanted to do a roleplaying game based on EVE Online, looked at Mongoose's Traveler, and bought them? Optimistic, I know.

Uhh, wrong computer game company.  CCP owns WW, Rebellion Group (also owners of the 2000AD comic) owns Mongoose.

If Mongoose is talking about third party supplements, that field is much less lucrative than in the 3.0 early d20 boom era.

See, that's what happens when I can't RTFA. :) Thanks for the clarification.

I suspect it's the sales of his 4e products. I picked up Wraith Recon. Then put it back down. The days of gamers buying crap because it's compatible with D&D ended years ago.
