This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

This is something I came up with because this sounded fun.

System: Fudge

Dire Turkey
HP: Mediocre
Threat Rating: Mediocre
Typically found in groups
Attack: Gouge with beak and/or claws
Behaviors:
* Do something utterly retarded
* Act with the element of surprise
* Attack any unknown elements
* Frolick in blood and gore
* Coordinate with their flock

The major threat from the Dire Turkey comes not from the individual turkey, but from their group coordination.  Many an unwary adventurer has chased a fleeing Dire Turkey into a lethal ambush.

For all their cunning group coordination, though, they really are stupid, stupid animals.

Makes me wonder Krimson if someone will take your creature and try and get it published in a official supplement. I like the fact that's it's immune to normal weapons. I can see a Revenant coming back to attack to a group.

I'm not really worried about someone taking something I whipped off for a laugh. I used Hero Lab to work out the initial stats before putting it together in some piece of software called DND_Monster. Yeah I wanted it to be a low level threat but still a threat. It could cause havoc for lowbies. :D

Undead Turkey Revenant
MV 12"
HD 1+1
Attack - Roll  D6 (on 1-4) +1 beak for D6-1 (on 5-6) +2 talon for D6+1
Special Attacks - energy drain (on a critical ), tracking (special)
Special Defenses - undead, skeletal (half damage from piercing / slashing), regeneration (special)

Holidays are rituals and rituals have power, especially when an animal is sacrificed and consumed as part of the holiday feast. However, its spirit must be appeased. As such, most religions indoctrinate their worshipers from childhood to give thanks, but some fools dare transgress and simply devour the turkey without care. These angry bird spirits can sometimes appeal to beast gods of death for vengeance against particularly egregious thankless heretics, particularly those who are gluttons and inflict misery on others trying to enjoy the holiday. If the gods listen, the undead turkey rises.

Undead turkeys have the supernatural ability to track down whoever ate its flesh without care for its sacrifice, and even inflict energy drain on a critical hit. If they are reduced to 0HP, they fully regenerate at dawn. Until they slay the transgressor(s), these undead turkeys can only be permanently destroyed by cleric turning (a destroyed result), disintegration or an atonement ritual by the transgressor.

That's a nasty beast. Also, easily reskinned to a more "monstrous" appearing creature.

Born with a memory of all the turkeys that have been slaughtered before it Gobbler killed it's creators and set forth to hunt down and obliterate those who dare celebrate the murder of it's kind.
