Has anybody played this system?
Any suggestions for somebody using it, house rules, etc?
  1. A robot may not harm a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
   2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
   3. A robot must protect its own existence, as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

I've played it a bit.  I enjoy the mechanic.  And the character creation is extremely detailed and customizable.  The main book is a a huge volume and a bit expensive but more than worth it.  When your looking atit you need to realize that its the equilavent of PHB, DMG, MM and a couple of others rolled into one book.  Think of this when yoir looking at teh price.

I've played it at Cons twice.  It's very fun, but the roles are very similiar so you really have to develop a personality and quirks to differentiate in many cases.

I've wanted the main book for ages, but without a group to play it with I can't justify that cost.

Works fine out of the box.  Hasn't really been around long enough for anyone to study it enough to be tweeked.  And not all games need to be messed with.

It works well out of the box.  It's also a system that doesn't seem to need a lot of tweaking for most of the concepts I'm familiar with.  It hasn't had a new supplement in awhile that I've seen though, so much of the info in the book is roughly season 6 or 7, with nothing on Atlantis last I checked, and a lot of the newer races missing.

That could take some creation.

THere are going to be no more books.  MGM decided not to renew the license.

Bummer, I hadn't heard.  That's too bad too, because it's a cool world and could use some cool treatment.

There's plenty of stuff out there for it though.  The main book is really all you need to get started.

No, you are just confusing that with casting agents for the current season.


The good thing about AEG's Stargate is you can buy everything for it. The bad news is there won't be anything else, even though they had the 3rd Season book ready to go. I believe some other RPG company may have put a higher bid in for the license, but this is unconfirmed.

Yeah I know AEG have basically dumped a lot of their lines recently, pretty much all the RPG ones bar L5R, and some of their card games.
