If you think that's meant to be mainly a quaint post of historical education about the curiosities of feudalism, and not about implying that all Western Kingdoms and nations were "Ethnostates" while simultaneously trying to promote the idea of no-borders, then I have a bridge to sell you.

It leaves the options available (if you're stupid enough to fall for the Foucaultian control of language) to "Yes they were ethnostates", "i'm sorry for creating/liking ethnostates", "I also hate all fantasy settings for being ethnostates!" or "fuck you I love ethnostates". No matter what, the point is that anyone who responds to her with other than "yeah, down with settings based on reality!! Seattle2020Realms 4 evah" is going to by default be labelable as pro-ethnostate.

Give it a rest. Yes the opinion of the poster wasn't right for all time periods pre 18th century, the Limes of Rome anybody? It was a simplified take on history.
