Sandra's Safespace Saddle. Magic Item.

Sandra's Safespace Saddle is a large extra-dimensional pocket space that holds up to 10 people comfortably. Upon entering, S'sSS removes all negative conditions, poisons and diseases. S'sSS immediately heals all damage to the character entering it, including Attribute damage.

While within the Safespace, any harmful, hateful or potentially problematic speech is instantly magically edited into something pleasant, rewarding and kind to all listeners. All sleep within the Safespace counts as double the time slept. While in the Safespace any character's biases, prejudices or hatreds are suspended. Any games of chance or competitions result in all participants winning. Anyone suffering from any negative mental condition has that condition suspended until leaving the Safespace.

A character can only benefit from one use of S'sSS per day.

HA! Nice one. That's inspired me to create:

Zhe's Card of the Cross.

A Card of the Cross is a one-use consumable magical item. It appears solid black on one side, with a slightly sideways-tilted cross on the other. It can be readied at any time as a Move action and can be used to instantly remove any ongoing mental affect such as Stunning or Fear, or cancel out any mind-affecting spell aside from Charm or Geas, or used to force someone to make a successful Will save of DC15 or be Silenced for one hour.

As soon as the card is used, however, it burns up in a puff of flame and emits a brief but loud screeching noise; the user's hair is then dyed a random color for the following 24 hours. Any of these colors causes a -2 penalty to all stealth rolls for the duration, to Diplomacy and Intimidation checks, and to resist further Fear affects or similar. If the user uses more than one Card of the Cross during that 24 hour period, the period is extended to 24 hours again and the penalties outlined above stack.

The hair can be shaved if desired, but only one side of the head or the other (attempts to shave bald result in all of it spontaneously regrowing), and does not mitigate any of these effects.

Roll 1d4 for color:
1. Green.
2. Pink/red.
3. Aqua.
4. Purple.

On a semi-off topic note, I've been doing research on the schizophrenic genius and computer programming prodigy Terry A. Davis ever since I saw the "Down The Rabbit Hole" video about him.

You know, I'm just amazed at how all of these young 21, 25, 20-ish and even people in their 30's manage to live a month without a job, let alone many months, or years--all without having a job and making money. It just boggles me.

How the fuck do these people eat? *What* the fuck do they eat? I can spend $100/week on food, without thinking about it much at all. That doesn't count obviously going out to lunch and dinner several times, as well as breakfast and morning coffees. ($400+/month for food).

How do they get around, with no money for gas? I can spend $100/week on gas for my vehicle, easily. ($400/month for vehicle gas).

Cell Phones cost money; $50 to $150/month. ($50/month).

Lights, Cable, Internet. Easily $100/month, without cable, or $250/month with cable. ($250/month).

Auto Insurance: $100/month, easy. ($100/month).

Gym Membership: $50/month. ($50/month).

My minimum expenses there are roughly $1250/month, not counting rent/mortgage, and funding nothing social or fun, like going out on dates, movies, drinks, game books, cigars, none of that. In general, toss in another $800 for share of rent, and so on. Add a $150 in bare-minimum spending money and miscellaneous, and it comes to $2200/month. Just to cover all of the necessities, and a bare few extras. I've been doing this program more or less since I was 17 years old. Paying bills, working, and working harder to do more than just get by. When I was married and owned a house in Norwalk, CA, I was taking care of half the mortgage, at $1200/month. The total monthly mortgage was $2200/month. Years later, a nice apartment in a nice section of Santa Ana, CA, was running $1400/month. Again, I was paying over 50% of the monthly rent with the girlfriend at the time. Plus all the bills and more.

How the fuck are these people even *functioning* in a society and home life, where they are not making at least close to the figures I put up? The figures I put up are also pretty minimal, watching the budget, nothing crazy or extravagant. Geesus, doing laundry at a laundry mat is like, $10 bucks. Or more. That's just weekly laundry for *me*--women, naturally, spend even more money if they are using a laundry mat.

It just boggles me how all of these young adults manage to get by without having a fucking job. Even more sharp, why the fuck would you enjoy being fucking broke and poor? Why the fuck would that even ever be acceptable? There's been more than one occasion where I have needed extra money, to pay off debts, get ahead, rebuild savings, whatehaveyou, where I went and got a second job, usually within two weeks, and raking in more money within a month. Working 14, 16 hour days, for months at a time. Being fucking broke and poor is no fun, and you have to always work hard to take care of your fucking life and make progress, and get stronger, month by month, year by year.

It's difficult for me to even comprehend these fucking lazy slugs in their 20's and 30's. Fucking pathetic losers.

Agreed. I'm 25 and I turn 26 in June. I am living with my mother and am unemployed, and believe me, it fucking sucks to not have any direction or purpose in life.

It's gotten so bad for me that I eventually rose to the occasion and started working with the Virginia Disability And Rehabilitative Services to enter a state-sponsored trade school program for disabled adults who are residents of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

It is a school where you live on campus and you first learn life skills and after completing that program, you enter a job skills program of your choice to learn a trade or certified job skill.

I've been doing loads of paperwork, dealing with bureaucracy, and generally playing "hurry up and wait" to get into this school, and yet despite the tedium of it all, it is fucking worth it.

A week ago, I was at the DARS regional office here in Roanoke and I had to take an aptitude test.

Fortunately, it went well for me and I now fully qualify for the school programs. In a few weeks, I will be returning to that office to find out the date of when I ship out to the school.

The reason why I chose to jump through all the hoops and wade through all the red tape of dealing with the state is because I want to improve myself and do something with my life. I can't stand being a jobless NEET and would not wish that upon anyone.

And for some reason, the spoiled hipsters in ANTIFA scorn the idea of honest work or learning a viable job skill (whether it be a trade skill or a viable college degree such as a STEM major) and choose to be lazy and whiny basement dwellers. I just can't comprehend it, I really can't.

I had to live with my parents for most of my 20's and I'm just now starting to branch out into the adult world, these losers choose to live with their parents well into their 30's.

Eh, maybe I'm letting the ANTIFA losers get to me. I mean, they're blindly throwing away their lives so they can LARP as Bolsheviks, but I'm trying to improve my life.

I'm going to be moving out of the house fairly soon, I'll be learning a job skill, and I now have a girlfriend.

Certainly not back east where I'm originally from.  We have a whole generation of young adults who appear to be homeless when in fact they have trust funds. It's bizarre.

He will ruin the family gathering by talking about what he learned this semester in his Gender Studies class, until Drunk Uncle (see p. 76) tells him to STFU and he runs to his room to post on Twitter.

The special attack of the pajama boy is the SJ vocabulary, which consists of various phrases like sealioning, gaslighting, mansplaining, check your privilege, and Not a Good Fit for the Community, which mean anything he wants them to mean. Very interesting, and wierd about these kids. Where the hell are all these rich parents coming from? I always thought that Oregon was kind of modest. (Compared to Orange County, CA, for example.) All these rich parents in Oregon proviing these mindless brat animals with trust funds? That is totally fucking bizarre, my friend. It reminds me though of something my father told me when I was a boy. I asked him about all of these screaming punks that were protesting President Ronald Reagan, and our military at nearby Mather Air Force Base, in Northern California. My father told me they were a bunch of lazy, drugged up Communists and Hippy scum. If they had a job and family to take care of, they wouldn't have time to stand at the gates of our air force bases and protest things they know nothing about. Nope, I used to see that same phenomenon in Seattle during the 90's. You'd see these twentysomethings hanging out on the street or in alleys or in doorways who would be begging for money, but they would have brand new shiny piercings and brand new leather jackets and brand new boots. They were just bored rich kids who came to Seattle so they could go slumming and fool themselves that they were hip bohemians. It used to piss me off because I was about the same age and was putting myself through college on the GI Bill and working 40+ hours a week, meanwhile if those shits ever felt the merest taste of deprivation - out would come mommy and daddy's credit card to make it all better.

Wouldn't it make more sense (and be easier) to base it on Swords and Wizardry? Finch seems to be as SJW as anyone at Paizo and Frog God actually did do a SJW edition of that, with all the editors/artists/whatnot women. (But that seems to have gone down the memory hole, with the deification of Bill Webb)

I'm young!:D Despite feeling fairly young, I admit, I often feel like I'm some kind of dinosaur. There's scientists and psychologists that talk about the "pace of change" and the "growth of knowledge" and how people, as human beings, have different *rates* in which they embrace and assimilate new knowledge. Technology to some extent, but also with mainly the social changes, it all feels way too fast for me, at least on some days, you know? Back in 1998-2000, I was fine with cell phones, for example. Nowadays they have all kinds of crazy shit on them I don't even use, or even bother to learn. I joked with a friend that "I'm sometimes ready to go get one of those uber-simple phones, you know the ones they make for AARP members or something, with the giant numbers on them, and basic programs!":D I get by though, even with my fancy phone that does all the crazy shit. LOL.

I hardly think you are a kid, my friend! I was a kid then, in 1982. Sammy is a kid.:) He's only 25. I'm old enough to kind of think anyone under 30 is still a kid. It's kind of wierd how when you are under, say, 40, you often view yourself as mature, and an adult, and having your shit together, and you've got everything figured out. Perhaps being a veteran, maybe having kids, getting divorced, buying and owning a house, all that kind of stuff and reaching 40 and beyond, other things that people can often experience, death and trauma, different knowledge kind of drops on you, as you grow, and learn, and you *then* realize, whoa, there was a bunch of shit at 25 or 35 that I just still didn't know, or didn't have the experience of. Life is wierd that way.:D

One buddy was from Chicago, another was from the Bronx in New York, another was from South Carolina, and another was from Florida. LOL. I'm from Queens, NY.  I've been in Portland since I was a teen.  That was the mid to late 90's.  It was the height of crime there.  Muggings, theft and even murder were common place.  My mom had a friend she met in Mexico City that was from Oregon and she convinced us to come. I love Portland but it's changed. People are so fake here these days and they're driving up the cost of living.

I also want to make a comment about the notion of the SJW.  I haven't really encountered those people in the flesh since I was in college.  And I live in Portland!   I haven't seen those people at cons or the game store.  I think people need to chill out about them because they're all online.  They're meaningless.

As a regular visitor to the city, I respectfully disagree.  

I've seen, and had the unfortunate opportunity to interact with, these people at Orycon, WizardWorld, and at RCCC.  I've seen (an interacted) with these people at Guardian Games and at Powell's, and a number of other venues.

The're not fictional, and they're not contained to the Internet.  I've encountered them at plenty of other venues in the city, not just the specifically hobby-related locales detailed above.

The mellowing out comes with age to all of us. It is called "seen it before-itis" and joint pain. :) I am sure you can find plenty of medieval commentary about the brashness of youth, too. :p

Red Castle is just as bad, if not worse, than Guardian.  At least, Guardian doesn't have inclusive-ally notifications plastered all over their front glass like Red Castle does.

Never been to Portland Game Store, but it looks relatively new, and the store shots on their webpage indicate it's not really the place for me.  I like stores that carry OOP stuff, and do buy/sell, so they have some modicum of OOP stuff due to that.  Red Castle's pickings were incredibly slim when I was up there 3-4 weeks ago, so I'm not going to go out of my way to visit the next time I'm there.

If I happen to be passing near while transiting to the variety of used paperback stores I visit while I'm there, I might divert and stop, but it's certainly not going to be a must-stop destination in the future.  At least Guardian has a small amount of turnover between visits.

As far as avoiding, well, the draw of larger game stores and used bookstores are what convince me to make the visit to see the family I've got up there.  Sad to say, but the family that chooses to live up there isn't enough of a draw to get me to drive up, so if I axe the game stores and bookstores, then I ain't driving to Portland.

I think Triggered works like descending AC. The more levels of Woke you gain, the lower your threshold goes.
