Shadowrun - Timeline of Editions? 6th Edition Lore?

So, from what I can gather, the following appears to be the general timeline of Shadowrun:

1st Edition:   2050-2054
2nd Edition:  2054-2059
3rd Edition:   2060-2064
4th Edition:   2070-2073
5th Edition:   2075-2077

Where does 6th Edition pick up?  Does it advance the timeline significantly?

Is there a good book (or two) from 5th and 6th Editions that presents the real meat of the updated lore, without getting buried in new mechanics?

I've got a pretty extensive/complete collection of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Edition stuffs, and some token 4th Edition.  Don't have any desire to go beyond 1/2/3 as far as the mechanics go, so no real agenda to collecting much out of 4/5/6, but if there's some decent stuff that covers what I'm looking for, I'd certainly entertain it.

Thank you!

Spike

As a rule of thumb, the year in Shadowrun is ALWAYS 'current year +60' or there-abouts.  This isn't even about editions. The First Ed street-samurai guide was released around christmas time the first year the game was out, and all the shadowtalk and dates in teh book were also set at teh end of the year for Shadowrun.

Seriously: That's how Shadowrun rolls.
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.

Yeah overall the timeline is usually close to now+61yr. Though the books have played fast and loose with that when it was convenient to do so.
1st-89-2050=61yr
2nd-92-2053=61yr
3rd-98-2060=62yr
4th-05-2070=65yr
5th-13-2075=62yr
6th-19=2080=61yr

1e is what I have and 2+some 3e was what ended up playing alot for a few years.
It feels like with each edition they may have fixed something, but at the same time lost something, or several somethings, as well as the focus of the setting seemed to drift further and further from its origins.
6e seems to have finally moved out into space with some colonies? Mars?
